You state you took it in trade. I have to assume you gave the other party credit for what you valued it at. I would also expect that you sold it for what you valued it at - maybe with a little profit. Sounds to me like you did fine, the collector is trying to make a nice profit and the original owner is the only person who lost out.

I'm sure it's the same guy I had an issue with on Armslist. I had a Model 60 3" listed. He asked me to call him and he haggled me down quite a bit on price. Before we concluded the deal he posted it for sale on another forum using my picture with a listed price significantly higher than my original asking price. I called him back and told him I would not do buisness with him.

We cruise the tanner for deals all the time, one of my buddies grabbed a preban that was priced too cheap and sold it for $2000 profit, i just drove to tuscon and grabbed a truck cause it was $4000 cheaper than i can buy a the same 4x4 here in colorado, what if i sold it at colorado prices now? That does not make me a scammer.

How about the prick that tried to haggle me down last week on armslist. Even lied about how how much they cost new. Then when we agreed on a price he tries to low ball me further with an excuse about the bank not being open. I know hes a member here.
Or the guys that dont try to negotiate during pm's, so expecting your asking price you drive over an hour each way wasting gas to meet them and as soon as they get there they start low balling you.

If buyer and seller agree that price is FIRM, and there are people who STILL haggle at a parking lot. I almost never have problem like that on this forum.

One time or another we all sell something and later find the buyer flipped it for more, Oh Well...................
Regarding trying to haggle after a price was agreed upon. ONLY IF the item listed was upon inspection not what it looked like on line. I see it listed as "Minor rust spots" Then when actually handling the item I need a tetanus shot, sorry seller is getting a -1 minimum!
sounds like you just needed to do more research on value. I've been there before. Can't fault the guy for working a deal though. you are the one who took the cash and put it in your pocket and handed the man the gun.
