I just transferred a gun to someone from Texas, he stated that no checks on long guns and permit carriers only need the permit number written down for handguns, no waiting/calling. I tend to agree that there is some [pileoshit] with the current process. I am in no way implying that someone that shouldn't own a gun is able to get one, but what about a non-violent offender, maybe someone driving more than 25 miles an hour over the limit,?
He stated wrong. Long guns and pistols in tx get a background done, ccw just gets you a no wait pass. Not that checks take long there anyway, clerk calls FBI, FBI says OK, done. State doesn't run its own. (which is where the choke point is here in CO)Quote:
