Strange, I've never been asked for an ID and weather it is for a rifle or handgun the times that I bought ammo at Wally Worlds, pre panic times though. Guess I really look like an Older Fart than I actually am.........

Yeah I think some people didn't read this correctly a few did.. And I see what you are saying SA... I get the computer prompting it.. I just thought it was funny that I'm well over 21 she looks at my ID sees I'm 21 then asks me if its for rifle or handgun... I was just wondering if the government had them asking even more questions.. With everything changing I just figured it was possible...
and yes I found 22lr and bought the last 3 boxes.. I was surprised as well...She asked how many I wanted and I wanted to say all of them but she looked stressed enough so I said 3. The other 2 boxes were for the guy who just bought a 22 anyway.. That is actually the only ammo she got in today and when I first asked it was on the counter.. She didn't even bother putting it in the display so it pays to ask
She's asking for ID because she's told to. And she's asking whether handgun or rifle to decide if you have to be 21 or not. And because its Walmart, she does not figure out that if your ID says over 21 that the second question is moot.
as far as I know they only ask suspicious people and record their information. hopefully you didn't pay with a card and show and ID.
Doing it for ever. When I was 19 the would'nt sell me 22LR because it 'might' be used in a pistol. I mentioned that the LR meant long rifle. Still no.
best thing to do is give it to me. I will take it and use it for lawful purposes. I will need a bill of sale, copy of drivers license, copy of SS card and birth certificate as well. I'll take that info to their headquarters in Arkansas and let them know you are now relieved of the ammo and you should be taken off the list...that of course requires a $125 fee, so I'll need that in the form of cash.
Man that's a big stress relief for a small amount of money and some evil bullets... :-) very kind of you!
