George Forman, boxing icon, dies at 76. 12 kids, 5 of them are named George!
Uhmmm- he died last spring
Hey Flogger- we have some bad news about President Kennedy...
And Francisco Franco is still dead (from when SNL was funny)
I didn't actually say WHEN he died!
My Dad always said 3 things happen when you get old, #1, your memory starts to fade, and I can't remember the other 2.
Theo Huxstable from the Cosby Show drowned in Costa Rica.
Malcolm Jamal Warner was only 54.
And now Ozzy... 76 years old

I was so surprised a few weeks ago when Ozzy performed in a concert. With all of his health issues it had to have taken a toll.
I've always enjoyed Ozzy's music, both from his solo career and his time with Black Sabbath. Plus, his unique personality was always fun to watch.
Another icon from my youth, gone as is my youth.
Wondering how Sharon will try to profit off of his death.
Ozzy is/was an icon. My daughters grew up listening to him and Black Sabbat (amongst others) and my oldest texted me late this morning with the sad news.
RIP Ozzy.
Saw Black Sabbath a couple of times as a youngin and Ozzy at OzzFest.

Hulk Hogan
Medics were dispatched to the 71-year-old WWE legend's Clearwater, Florida home early Thursday morning ... with operators stating it was regarding a "cardiac arrest."

Chuck Mangione checked out today as well.

The Hulkster seemed to be an invincible hero in wrestling and a genuine good person in public. I liked the shirt rip he did at Trumps 2024 Madison Square Garden's Rally. He had a good run!
RIP to the best ever!
Chuck Mangione

I still have "Feels So Good" and the theme to "The Cannonball Run" on my play list for driving around with the top down and just being happy to be alive.
When I lived in Tucson a long time ago the U of A had a great performing artists program. One of the shows I went to was to Chuck Mangione, wonderful concert. The album had recently been released.
I always was entertained by Hulk Hogan, he had some weird shit go down in his later years but just seemed really likeable.
He tore off his shirt for Trump, so of course Slate decided he is a horrible person.

Everyone Hated Hulk Hogan
The most famous pro wrestler in history died as a villain who was all too real... a conniving and sadistically opportunistic person...
For instance: In 1993 Hogan outmaneuvered Bret Hart—another one of the greatest wrestlers of all time—by persuading company Chairman Vince McMahon to alter the ending of WrestleMania IX at the last minute.
Hogan was the vessel for one of Peter Thiel’s first forays into political donorship, when the tech baron dumped oodles of cash into a lawsuit that brought about the destruction of Gawker Media.
In 1986 Hogan committed perhaps his greatest sin, when he scuttled a burgeoning unionization effort in the WWE.
What a bunch of crap. Had he been on the podium for Kamala, this garbage article would never had been written.

AK Best (noted fly tier from Boulder)
Flip Pallot (among other things he was host of ESPN's Walker's Caye Chronicles)
Bill Potter (owner of SeaCraft boats during their most sought after "Potter-built" years of 1968-1980)
-all died in August. Names that likely don't mean anything to people outside the fishing obsession.
Sorry for your losses, Mark.
I'm sure you knew them all personally since you mentioned them here.

Even though yesterdays assassination of Charlie Kirk has its own thread, I feel he deserves to be recognized here as well.
I never got a chance to meet him or see him in person as I'd hoped to do. I'm greatly saddened and furious at the same time.
Charlie Kirk had a lot to offer this nation to at least give folks something honest to think about. His murder is a huge loss to this country.

Agreed Ginsue, thank you for posting this here.
My oldest daughter was looking forward to his visit to CSU next Thursday, she had volunteered to work the event.
Greatly saddened and furious covers it well. Our nation lost a true leader yesterday.

Robert Redford, the longtime Hollywood icon and star of classic films such as 1969's Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and 1985's Out of Africa, has died. He was 89.

3 Days of the Condor and Sneakers are two of my favorite films of his with of course Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid.
'The Sting' will always be a great movie.
It was made 52 years ago for all you oldsters out there!
A few of us were just discussing the film Jeremiah Johnson, and how it was based on the book Crow Killer: The Saga of Liver-eating Johnson by Raymond Thorp, Jr.
We were wondering what Robert Redford was up to now.
In 1955-56 he went to CU at Boulder to play baseball on a scholarship but was later expelled due to excessive partying.
While at CU, he also worked as a janitor at a local restaurant called The Sink
He started the Sundance Film Festival that will be held in Boulder after this year.
RIP
