Damn Matt.... that boom stick of yours is beautiful [Beer]
Thanks Mike, it took almost 9 months to get it to this point. I didn't know if I would ever get it together...lol
I guess I'll play.....
I just assembled this tonight. It's a hunting rig for my Father-In-Law for when he moves back to the US in a couple years. He said he wants to shoot factory ammo at white tail deer about 200yds away, with an emphasis on being light weight with low recoil. This is chambered in .243. It cleanly took white tails when I was a kid, so unless he shoots a bionic deer, this should be fine.
I'm really glad to have built this for him. His health has declined in the last couple years, so this gun has a little bit of meaning to it, and it will have a lot more meaning when I'm able to hand this to him.

Bad ass Brother! Bad ass [Beer]
Cool, Belly. Are you going to make the man sight down that little rail, or will he get a scope?
He gets the rail. I get the scope.
im probably going to put the mk4 Leupy on it that I can't get sold. (It's in the for sale section.....shameless plug)
Just had the front rifle chambered, 7SAUM. Same components as the back rifle, 6x47, have 900rds on it. Spent some time fussing with the triggers to get them very similar. Both rifles have the same feel, the one will have a tad bigger bark. Chamber was cut/throated for the Berger 180 Hybrids in a short action, jumping them about .020. at mag OAL. Hope to get a load/dope figured out in time to shoot the Magnum match in Raton next month. Gunsmith Jon Beanland chambered both rifles, can't say enough good things about him as well as AJ Goddard (Bighorn Arms).
Bighorn short action
Brux heavy palma barrel 27" (Bartlein on the 6x47)
CG Extreme two stage trigger
Badger FTE
Premier 5-25

Daayyummm.... reminds of those naughty "Double mint gum" ad's [Beer]
Built this rifle for the owner of the company I work for, he's been very good to my brother and I for many years. Going to give it to him next month.
Chambered in 243, throated for Berger 105 Hybrids
Trued R700 action
PT&G Bolt
Timney trigger
24" Kreiger Medium Palma 8 twist
XLR stock
Scope/rings picture isn't coming with it. He has a Vortex PST 6-24.
He mostly shoots AR's, the XLR chassis should be a easy stock for him to get behind.
I'll be loading ammo for him. Started working up load on Saturday. 47 grains of H1000 is looking good. Will shoot it at distance this weekend. Maybe I'll shoot a match with it before giving it to him.

One of my Pdog killas. A Remington 700 Varmint .308 with a Choate Ultimate Varmint stock, Redfield Revenge 6-18x44 with Varmint reticle, Weaver 20 MOA rail, Warne permanent rings, and a Harris BR bipod. Heavy as all get out, but can actually stay on target after most shots!

I've chased pdogs out to about 800 yards, but have yet to get a confirmed kill at that distance. I've come within inches of hitting one, but considering they're about the size of a beer bottle and moving, I don't feel too bad. However, I have no doubt that I could consistently engage a standard military silhouette target at that distance with it.
[Awesom]
Pawnee would be fun... I'm pretty sure we could set up steel targets as far as you want or to your hearts content [Beer]
Another thing to is... don't worry about blowing through so much ammo. I usually bring 100 rounds or LESS for long range shooting. I also bring my .22 bolt gun for shit's and giggles.
Ahh yes... I'm down for another trip down there after this Raton match.
What? No invites for your favorite admin?????.... No "not-bans for you!!!!" (said in voice of soup nazi)
Easy J, you're invited! [Beer]
Also I'm trying to solidify another place to shoot near Jefferson if anyone's interested
Just added a Witt Machine Muzzle Brake. Supposed to keep you on target throughout the recoil of a .308. We'll find out Sunday...
Heres a couple, don't know if I showed these yet, know for sure I haven't on the Repr, its in 7.62. My Southern Precision is in .223, lovin that, learning the wind!

Have two in the cooker to, then I'll slim down to what I want to keep, waiting on my stocks for Beanland to finish them up
Damn... you got some nice toys... and your as bad as Bakaroo there [Coffee]
I'm kidding... I love you guys[Flower]
Just brought it home and slapped the scope and bipod on [Ban3]

Looks good, dude. Let me know how those Scenars work.
Turns out they work pretty good [Beer] Ran 10 different loads 5 rds each and not a single group above 1/2" Smallest was .150"
Best group with a single digit SD was the one with .150" and an SD of 6.5 Running 2721 FPS on 45.5 grs of H4831sc
H4350 was producing better speed (high 2890's) but not as great of an SD just as good of groups though. More testing is required on both because I can deffinately go a touch hotter as there's still no pressure signs.
Nothing special but I do have Bert's loving touches on it.

Very nice... Careful with Bert's touch... it'll make you want to spend more $$$$... I kid! I kid!
Bert is the shizzit!!! He can touch my stuff anytime [Beer]
Here are a couple of the toys!

Finally have glass to put on my rifle lapped the rings and installed Timney trigger on thursday. Now just waiting on a knob and i haven't decided if ill change the stock later on. Got a vortex razor HD
Bout time! J/K. I know its been a while coming for you, I'm sure you are excited. When are you going to go stretch the legs out on that bad boy with us? Also, pretty awesome you went with the Razor, last time we talked you were thinking PST. I'm sure you will be glad you waited a bit longer for that glass. The Razor is no joke! What rings are those?
Thanks, it has been a long time coming going back and forth and finally a deal came up i couldn't pass up. i bought the vortex 35 mm steel rings it was part of the deal so it worked out. If i'm not mistake seekins makes them or badger.
when ever you are all going let me know and ill come and join now that i have a toy to play with. I'm working on my reloads currently just waiting for some better weather to go out and test.
Vortex makes some of their rings in house, and their higher end rings are made by Seekins. Cool deal. Shoot me your cell in a PM so I can let you know the next time we are heading out. You can try some of my 178 AMAXs too if you like.
Waited almost 3 months for the stock, and now it is finally done (after a stripped allen bolt on the stock, and a huge headache there). I had to build one like Lief's that I can shoot a 1/2 MOA 10-shot group. Now I have a small caliber, accurate bolt thumper of my own!
Specs:
Savage Axis .223 Barreled action
Rifle Basix Trigger @ 1.7 lbs (as light as I could get it without bolt slam discharge)
Blackhawk 9-13 Bipod with swivel/cant.
EGW 20 MOA Pica Base
Vortex medium tactical rings
Boyds Featherweight thumbhole stock
Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50 MIL/MIL FFP Scope

GREAT glass for the price, I absolutely love mine, the only drawback is the weight of that big mamma jamma. The new Gen II's that are supposed to be released soon look great too, but they are also pretty heavy. Not much of a concern though unless you're packing it around a lot.
