Slugs may be from 30 to 75 yards depending on if they get the 100 yard berm completed.
21 rounds will be max required round count for shotgun.

Thanks Mark.
Anyone in the Colorado Springs area want to carpool to the Oct. 6th 3 Gun match?
Just for the purposes of planning ahead, a bit about 2013.
Feb will be a .22RF match (long rifle amo only), pistol (10 rounds) and rifle (10 rounds), all steel, 4 stages. No reloading and no brass to pick up in the potential cold month. $10 match fee.
March will be a typical 3 gun match that may have a few target presentations you will want to see for April.
April (4-6) is the Noveske USPSA Area 2 Multi-Gun match. 10 stages, $150.
May will be one course of fire, about 150 rounds. Pistol (50 rounds), Shotgun (40 rounds), Carbine (50 rounds out to 150 yards), Precision (10 rounds, 200 yards, 1-2 MOA 60 seconds PAR on this portion). You will cover about 300 yards. Probably on the order of a 10 minute long stage.
Out of curiosity(I'd use my shotgun anyway), why the option for open shooters to use pistol instead of shotgun?
BP
OK, so the 1 giant stage in May sounds pretty fun.
I guess I will have to dig out my sling then.
Pretty excited! The weather is going to make this more interesting. Can't wait!!!
Please check here before heading out Saturday morning. Rain predicted for Friday and Snow for Saturday.
Reckon' that means a chance of a "rain/snow" out?
Light snow here in Longmont this morning. I'm game for shooting in light snow if it doesn't get worse tomorrow, anyone else? Hate for there to be no more matches for the year.
MadDolg
It is not really the cold, or the snow, but the MUD. There is about 8 miles of dirt road that becomes treacherous when wet. With my 35" mudders, it is fine, but I can only put like 15 in the truck bed. :) A hard freeze would actually be better. It is this 30 to 40 degree temp that really sucks.
It is supposed to snow tonight through tomorrow morning.
IF I have to cancel, I will plan a clinic/practice session on October 20 at CRC with at least one stage to run that will have a lot of skill sets to test. That will both scratch the itch and allow some of the new folks to get some real good practice in.
I was lamenting this to my buddy about the potential cancellation. He made me think that it could also be a safety issue if its muddy. Running around and possibly discharging a firearm in a non-intended direction could be disastrous...
Just another perspective I wasn't thinking of...
So, how's it looking... Are we gonna have a match?
Much as I hate to do it, I think it best to pull the plug on the match tomorrow. It will be cold and muddy.
I will plan for the clinic on October 20.
OCTOBER 6 MG at CRC Cancelled.
I'll look forward to attending the clinic then. I understand the reasons to cancel the competition...
Can we do the match on the 20th instead?
damnit! now I have to go practice for OPEN nationals now :(
Dang that sucks.
I will see you guys on the 20th.
So what will the round count be for the practice session on the 20th and will be be using all three guns?
MadDog
You will use 3 guns in some of the drills.
50 rounds of pistol ammo. I'd bring 200 each of rifle and shotgun and 20 buckshot and 20 slugs. Bring a rifle sling and your normal gear.
Not going to spend a lot of time on pistol except for transitions. We will spend a good amount of time on shotgun drills and rifle drills. For those who need to, we will confirm zeros for rifle and slug.
#8 birdshot is fine.
pistol w/3 mags
rifle(AR, AK, box mag fed rifle) 3 mags
Shotgun. bring what you got, but you will want one that holds 8rds preferably
sturdy gun belt
pistol holster(No IWB, crossdraw, shoulder mount.) a good kydex holster will work great.
double mag pouch
rifle mag pouch
A way to carry extra shotgun shells.
no steel core ammo
anything you don't have you will most likely be able to borrow. just post up what you may need.
I will have to put the holster, mag holders, sling and a 8rd tube on the shopping list then. I won't have it all by the 20th but I'm sure ill get by. Do you guys rock scopes on the rifles or what? I kind of want to know what kind of set ups people go with.
Make the holster you first priority, everything else you can borrow I'm sure.
What pistol are you using?
The scope/red dot thing is a personal choice. It would be best to just bring out what you already have to try it out. While you are there check out everyone else's set ups and see what you like.
Sounds good. I will most likely be using my gen4 G21.
Do I need to sign up in advance? What time should we show up to help setup?
Oh and Thanks for doing this.
