I wrote my fiancee who banks at Wells Fargo a check for 650.00$.

She deposited it. 650.00$ went into her checking account.

2 weeks later, I was sorting a pile of my mail and saw an over-draft notice from my credit union.

I checked my account history and found that Wells Fargo ran that check against my account for 6,500.00$.

Wells Fargo had 6,000$ of mine and I doubt they were going to ever contact me about their %$&#-up.

My credit union cleared it up with Wells Fargo in about 6 hours after several of my calls to Wells Fargo went nowhere fast.

True story.

Did Wells Fargo 'spend' my money? Did they pool it in some way with all of their other funds and somehow gain interest on my 6,000$? I don't know, but I was told by my credit union that there was nothing I could do to Wells Fargo for borrowing my money for a couple weeks.

As long as the guy who got the Monopoly Chance card can pay the funds back, I don't think he should be charged with anything.

If he could have paid the $69K back when the bank found the mistake, he would not have been charged.

I hear that Wells Fargo wants to start an Assault Weapons Ban! It was in the World News Daily. Quick, Run!

I call bullsh!t on that one. CRS (Colo Revised Statutes) says wearing a seatbelt while banking is a secondary offense. You must be doing something else wrong before you can be ticketed. Also carrying a concealed cheap weapon is a primary offense unless you overpaid for your CCW at Bunsmoke.

This is not difficult for me...I just have a different opinion than you on this story.

I learned long ago to always take the high road because no matter the out come, the consequences are so much easier to deal with.
If I found a large amount of money had been mistakenly placed in my bank account, I'd be calling the bank at my earliest conveniance. I sure as hell would not spend a dime of it "just 'cause the bank has screwed someone at some point in the past".
