I read it wrong, i say 50 total per person is good enough. per rifle i would say minimum of 10.
I have 8 Magpul 20LR mags and I don't yet own a .308
Obviously the .308 is on my with list, but by the time I can get the rifle, I may not be able to get the mags.
I'm getting 10 with the idea of using 5 for service and 5 in reserve.
When the rear springs on the pickup start to squat, that's probably enough.
Myself, I only have 31. All fully loaded, that's about all I'd want to try and carry in a bag. My rifle case has pouches for 6, plus one in the rifle. Sumbitch is heavy when your back is AFU.
Amount of Magazines you Need or Want?
Being an Older Person I may not need as many as the younger guy.
With that said, I do have a Son who I gave all my Firearms to & since Hitlerlooper made the High Caps. illegal after 7-1-13, I would encourage others to get as many as they can Financially afford..
Reason is,
They will get harder & harder to purchase. Illegal or not.
I know it's a tough call for some of our members. The Higher Cost's of everything going up & the uncertainty of B.O', Health Care.
Under MagPul's Colorado Air-Lift you can purchase them at a reasonable cost & $5.00 to ship, they are loosing money on that part of the transaction.
How Many,
it's your call & you are running out of Time?
I like to have minimal 10 per rifle and 5 per pistol
I would think a minumum of 10 per firearm, seeing how the Dems are... well you know.
Standard loadout for troops is 7 mags, if I was informed correctly.
There are some ?'s grasshopper that need no answer. You will determine it when the time comes.
10 seems reasonable. Then if you need more, just go to Wyoming and bring some home.
20 if they are chinese mags or 10 if they are factory! [ROFL1]
Your full load out times 2.5.
So if your load out is like mine, I have 9 rifle mags (1 in gun, 2 on belt, 6 on PC) and 4 pistol mags (1 in gun and 3 on belt). I keep the LO mags in my kit, the same number as a second line, and 5 rifle mags and 2 pistol mags as spare as a minimum per gun.
Multiply that (your load out for the particular gun) for however many guns you may or may not have.
I have 10 per handgun but all 40 of my "high capacity assault baby killer magazines" disappeared as soon as they ran out of ammo per congresshag DeGette.
You know you young guys ask alot of stupid ?s.
Ho many guns you got?
How much ammo you got?
How many mags you got?
Where is your safe?
Where do you live?
NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS.
Get real.
In all fairness, maybe he was asking for advice, not how many YOU have personally. Or maybe it was a stupid question. [Spank]
Life is not fair.
I say at least 50 per gun at a minimum, then you shouldn't run out.
Best is to keep as many mags loaded with as much ammo as you have...you cant shoot and load at the same time,
Got 1000 rounds....you need 34 30 round mags
Get over yourself. He didnt ask how many you HAD, he asked how many magazines someone should have.
If you think that because you wont list a number on an online forum where you have 4000+ posts makes you anonymous to the gun grabbers, maybe you should think again.
Personally, I think 5 per pistol, 10 per rifle is a good starting point.
7 mags, 210 rounds is a standard load out.
I order in groups of seven mags per order.
To each his own I say, what will your vest/plate carrier hold? How much could you actually carry if you HAD to roll out?
I go with seven to ten mags MINIMUM. Keep a few on hand for parts due to damage etc.
I don't own any guns anymore, they are not safe...
I used to have a bunch of mags to go along with my guns however my dad and I went shooting out in the ocean and our boat capsized....
All my mags are standard capacity
42
Bwahaha 42!
I get it, I must be old.
the true answer is 87
.308, X39 or 5.56? [Flower]
Merged multi threads
Bumping this thread... 2 weeks from July 1st and I'm sure everyone is doing an inventory.
Do you only keep 30 rounders? How about the new magpul 40s? Surefire 60/100s? Drums?
I just did an informal inventory of M1 carbine mags and damn, I didn't know I had so many! Almost a .50 cal ammo can full! And I ain't even going to consider counting enbloc clips for my Garand, oh hell no.
My wife mentioned that at least after July 1 I won't be able to spend any more on mags. [LOL]
Up to 50 mixed AR, 40 mixed AK and a drum style for each type. Because you know, once I fire them they will be used up.
