http://www.laruetactical.com/ did the same thing, applying the same law applied to civillians in a state to thier law enforcement. (excludes Fed govt, hey gotta sell to our snipers) NEWS RELEASE:
02/08/2012 LEANDER, TX.
Updated Policy for State and Local Agency Law Enforcement Sales:
Due to the recent and numerous new Anti-gun/Anti-2nd Amendment laws passed and/or pending across our country, LaRue Tactical has been forced to reconsider how we provide products to state and local agencies.
Effective today, in an effort to see that no legal mistakes are made by LaRue Tact...ical and/or its employees, we will apply all current State and Local Laws (as applied to civilians) to state and local law enforcement / government agencies. In other words, LaRue Tactical will limit all sales to what law-abiding citizens residing in their districts can purchase or possess.
State and local laws have always been a serious focus of this firm, and we are now dovetailing that focus with the constitutional rights of the residents covered in their different areas by the old and new regulations.
We realize this effort will have an impact on this firm's sales - and have decided the lost sales are less danger to this firm than potential lawsuits from erroneous shipments generated by something as simple as human error.
Thanks in advance for your understanding.
Mark LaRue

So kick ass! [Alrigh]
Screw NY, CA, and CO, if "civilians" cant buy them why should LE be any different?
I'm impressed
I do not currently own any LaRue products, but if the Republic survives that will change. Due simply to this action LaRue is taking. Impressive.
Ginsue, thanks for merging/combining all these threads!!
Sweet!!
i'm going to send an email to LaRue thanking them for this.
Though these are great symbolic gestures, until the heavy hitters get involved (which I fear they won't) these moves are like me (a guy) saying he's going to boycott Tampax.
O2
Ps. I wish I had come up with the above analogy, but I saw it on another board.
I thanked them in the comments section of the order I placed.

Many other companies have taken this stance and Midway USA joins the ranks.
Midway USA statement:

Link no good.
Good for them and all the others that have done the same
I could not get that link to work, but found the article at this link --> http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/201...an-bans-apply/
It looks like CTD is announcing something similar, link here --> http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/201...re-prohibited/
I wish the big manufactures would follow suit.
Cheaper than Dirt and Olympic Arms jumped in and are taking a similar stance. Barrett started this years ago in California and we will see how many others follow the lead. LaRue stepped up and took the initiative a couple weeks ago.

I applaud what Midway and some other companies are doing despite the fact it's mostly symbolic.
No 30 round mags for citizentry, none for LE either.
Though its mostly symbolic, I really appreciate this. We need to get manufacturers on board... which will be hard because they often sell straight to the agencies and are guaranteed payment from an endless stream of fiat money.
I dunno, I am pretty sure we can count on Magpul giving CO LE the finger on the issue if 1224 passes and they relocated. I know there are other manufacturers but it starts sending a message.
Good for them. I bet more will follow, i doubt magpul would pay to move then agree to ship to CO, at least I hope not. Hopefully Glock/SIG etc will follow suit and ship everybody the same mags? Glock is gonna have to either stick it to them or offer 4 different mags for each gun.
Magpul should open up shop about 6 feet from the Colorado border, like a Wyoming fireworks stand.
I applaud all the companies doing this. I wish the people who allegedly represent us would listen but they won't.
I hope they don't sell a damn thing to the Leo. They aren't military. They are citizens who are held to a higher standard and paid to uphold the law. That's it...
In light of the CTD flipflopping the question is asked will you go back to CTD: http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/201...per-than-dirt/
I'm a wait and see with this one. I'm more than willing to forgive and forget but it will be tough. Plus, their prices are beyond standard capitalistic supply/demand gouging. It's a bit over the top on some of their stuff.
Like the others here..

That's the way it should be. Good job Midway!
+1 I applaud the companies who support the position of what's good for us citizens is good for non-military LEO's.
Personally I think it is high time we de-militarize the police anyway. And I think we should push the issue. If we the law abiding, tax-paying citizenry do not need magazines over 10 rounds or "assault weapons". Then civilian LEO's don't need them either. After all, aren't "assault weapons" tools of war meant for the military? Who are the police at war with?
My $1.02 worth.
If Magpul moves, I wonder if we can get them to start stamping their mags "for civilian use only" and not sell them to LE. The military already said you can't use them IIRC.
Good for Larry at Midway!!!!
They have my business
I don't have an assault weapon I have a personal defense weapon. Wait I lost that in the boating accident.
This has the potential to really send a strong message. Make sure that it applies to security agencies that DOD contracts for personal security as well. We are all on an equal playing field.
I think that another important point is to get behind these business and stop doing business with anyone who does not adhere to this standard. All it is going to take is a couple small companies to undercut all of these LE contracts and make a killing while hurting the companies that have the integrity to stand up for this. It would be very important to know where all major companies stand on this movement and start to conduct our business accordingly.
