The Lazarus Effect. Here is how this movie came about.
Guy 1: We should reboot Pet Cemetery.
Guy 2: Yeah, only let's update it and call it Pet Laboratory.
Guy 1: That would be too obvious. We need a modern reboot of an old movie, with an ancient sounding title.
Guy 2: [Performs Google search of Latin words related to death] How about The Lazarus Effect?

Just finished watching "Zero-dark 30". I'm in lust with Jessica Chastain. I'm not sure how realistic some of the action was, though it was entertaining.
my 13yr old son wanted to se The Kingsmen so my wife and i saw it to preview it for him and to see where the R rating comes from.
dont let your kids see it. the commercial teasers make it looke like it's geared for a young audience but it's extremely adult.
Rented "Lucy" this weekend and it was not what I expected, decent plot development if not so great character development. 3.5 out of 5.
Matthew Broderick, Rutger Hauer, and Michelle Pfiefer, all with the worst musical soundtrack ever heard in a movie theater. I don't know what happened to my bootlegged copy from Showtime. I think my wife tossed it after I made her watch it one too many times.
My wife and daughter went to see Cary Elwes just before Christmas at the Tattered Cover. He was promoting his book As You Wish. My daughter still grins when I mention her meeting the Dread Pirate Roberts.
Thanks for the reminder about Comic Con. My wife wanted to know the dates and I told her May 23-25th, and I asked her if she wanted to go. "No, I just want to know when we should go downtown to walk around and see some of the CosPlayers on walkabout."
The other thing about Ladyhawke... What happens when the moon is out and visible during daylight? [Dunno]
But MOST of the best Cosplayers will be INSIDE! That's where we will be!
The change occurred at twilight and dawn, right? Not when the moon was visible.
Is Lost Highway (1997) any good? Noticed a couple songs on my Pandora palsy are from that movie.
It's David Lynch, so it's f'd up and bizarre. My husband enjoyed it, but then again, he liked Eraserhead and Blue Velvet. I guess it depends on your taste in movies. If you like David Lynch's movies, and enjoy the puzzles he leaves behnd then you'll like it. Me, I enjoyed the soundtrack but very little else about the show.
Sounds like I'll like it. Anyone seen Primer or Pi? Those movies are good for messing with your head. I don't believe they are related in any way.
When there is nothing on TV, which can be pretty much all of the time, and when I can get my wife to agree that there is nothing on, which means no new reality shows, I hook my laptop up to the TV, pull up youtube and make her watch episodes of "Space Above and Beyond" with me. She has started to like the Fail Compilation videos too. Hulu has some old SF movies too that I can access.
We LOVE "Space Above and Beyond." We have that on DVD, too, and binge watch it every few years. :)
Anyone excited to see this?
That looks intense!
Generation War.
My son just found this and brought it my attention: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QLtxQWOvz_k
It's a few years old, I did a search and found no mention of it here in the thread. I's billed as the German Band of Brothers. I couldn't find it locally so I ordered it, should be here Tuesday when I get home. It's in German with English subtitles.
"Hot Fuzz"
Just came out on NetFlix.
Hilarious
F... yeaH!

I don't know what to think about this. Any other franchise would be laughed to the SyFy network for what the plot proposes.
Le Mans showing on TCM right now. This and Grand Prix, two of the better racing movies ever made. Real race cars at speed, no CG crap to muck it up.
Watched Backcountry last night on demand. Canadian low budget but really well done and interesting. Loosely based on a true story. I'd recommend watching it. It will make you always have a weapon in the woods. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=46uwmzTf5nA
We stumbled upon The Babadook on Netflix last night. I actually thought it was an anime from the picture. We really liked it. It is an Australian horror film.
I kind of feel like we might not have enjoyed it as much if we had seen the trailer first.
With Dwayne Johnson?
No thanks. At least not at the theater. 👎👎
Hope I'm wrong, but I doubt it.
It would be nice if Hollywood could come up with more original stuff, instead of trying to "improve" old, campy favorites.
SACRILEGE!!!!!
How dare they do a remake? Yeah, I like Dwayne Johnson, but there's no way he can replace Kurt Russell.
This is SO unnecessary.
Dammit, this is annoying. If they really want to do a remake, remake Demolition Man. The show was okay, but they could have done better. Snipes screws everything up with his I'll-just-act-crazy-so-they-won't-know-I-can't-really-act.
I usually get irritate with remakes, but I recently heard a stand up comedian ranting about people who get mad at remakes and I think he nailed it. I'll see if I can find the clip.
This will be on my must see list:

It's unfortunate that Matt Damon is such a good actor but such a loser in real life. Jason Bourne one minute, liberal gun hater and anti 2A the next....
Looks like a prequel to Interstellar with half the same cast.
Watched American Psycho last night. First time since it came out. Took out my "uncontrollable blood lust" on some thistles an mullins today. http://yoursmiles.org/tsmile/want/t2807.gif
