NFC tags. If you have an NFC device (sorry iPhone users) you can program these to do just about whatever you want automatically. I have a few under light plate switches so you don't see them and I pass my phone near them to change a pre-set list of settings. I have one inside the garage door that when I get home will enable WiFi, disable Bluetooth, Disable GPS and do a few other things. Then, when I leave I wave it over the same one and it reverses all those settings so I don't have to. I have one in the bathroom that will enable bluetooth and launch my music player so it will pair with the audio system we have in the bathroom w/o pressing anything. I have one next to my bed that silences the ring tone and notification tones, disables vibrate, launches the alarm clock and sets it for 8hrs from now and puts it in clock mode. I have one in the living room so if you come over to visit and want to get on our WiFi network you can wave your phone next to it and your phone will be on the network... no need to find/enter passwords. I have an NFC keychain with my personal contact info on it so if I meet someone and we exchange contact information they only need to wave their phone next to it and it's all there for them to save to their contacts.
In addition you can use NFC to pay for stuff at places like McDonald's and gas stations with tons of businesses jumping onboard daily but you can also share stuff with your friends by placing phones back to back and then tapping the screen. It's a pretty useful feature actually.
Yep
lol. I'll go ahead and make your next post for you -

Yeah, they're super cheap and you can do all sorts of things. Put them in your car to launch Google Maps and activate bluetooth or whatever. You're limited by only your mind (so I'm pretty limited [Tooth]) The future is bright for NFC and Apple really missed the boat by not including it on the iPhone 5. It would have helped to move the technology forward too. Oh well.
The tags themselves have memory in them and you program the tag to do whatever sequence you want it to do. Then you install the NFC app on phones that are NFC capable (most new Android phones are now) and make sure it's enabled. Then you get your swipe on!
Okay enough of the techno talk. I'm getting dizzy. [Gas2]
