And another guy to get you your decap pins...
Wet tumbling. Wet tumbling. Wet tumbling. Wet tumbling. Wet tumbling. Wet tumbling. Wet tumbling. Wet tumbling.
Resized 20 rounds of .308 brass to .260. It only took a few to learn the proper technique. Now that I know how, I need to make a couple hundred more.
Deprimed, sized, primed, and belled 119 cases. Loaded 49.
Lubed, sized, deprimed just under 1k of .308. Fixed a die with a suck casing and cleaned up a bit.
Thinking about getting 38 colt brass for my 627.
You considered .38 Hoser?
No just looking at a better way for a gamer load but 38 hoser is a good idea.
Loaded up 50 rounds to test my LMT with the new can on it.
50rds, 2 ladders of 45
Cranked out 170 rounds of 308 and 100 rounds of 223 last night.
Attachment 44323
Prepped & Primed 350 rounds of 9mm
Smelted a shit-ton of lead wheelweights into little 1 pound ingots with a 4-cavity Lyman ingot mold. Those little bars stack nicely into GI .30 cal ammo cans, I think ~56 to a can. Got about 8 cans full.
Did a little 9x19 load development. I have not wondered from my load of Titegroup and 124 JHPs in over 100K rounds.
Now I am playing with 124 and 147 FMJs. Still using Titegroup. I also have some 160gn SNS coated bullets that I picked up from the Dillon showroom I can try.
Found some good hunting loads for the .338-06 in 200gr and 225 grain bullets. Now I'm going back and re-testing a few things. Different primers, crimp / no crimp... that sort of thing. Just seeing if I can make them any better.
Another day of working brass. Very tempted of designing a high Cap wet tumbler, just tired of the little tumblers. Youtube has a couople DIY ones that seem easy enough to build.
Finished the other 50 rounds of my .40 test load. Now time to shoot them again, and order more bullets in time for this month's classifier.
You mean the classifier you're not at right now?
CRC is doing theirs this week as well. I also just order 1,000 bullets from X-treme. Thanks for mentioning them at least 17 times BuffCyclist.
Processed another 2500 .223 through the 1050.
Shot some of my reloads. Daughters did too. 13 and 15 yo girls took yo my 308 quite well thanks to the accutrigger and j's brake. Couldn't get them to shoot the 243 much. :( . Even worse, I had to buy Starbucks because the 15 yo shot a smaller two shot group than me. She's a sandbagger.
Started tumbling some .38 Special.
Prepped & Loaded .45 ACP
So, how large an area do you think a box of 100 55gr jsp, takes up when dropped ? Next question, who really counts to make sure all 100 have been recovered ?
Ah, Kazoo, it's not the size of the mess, it's the inaccessibility of the nooks and crannies they get into that makes it so much fun!
I was going to tumble some brass yesterday when I was working on the shotgun, but I can't stand the noise after a while, so I'll just turn it on when I have somewhere else to be. Some of the tumbling is fine, but there are calibers that are a lot louder than others.
I had a similar issue recently. I went to the store a while ago and picked up a single quart of cheap synthetic oil, only to be used for gun lube. I wrote GUN OIL all over it. The other day, after having used it for the second time, I was chuckling to myself thinking I wonder if this will last me 100 years, or 150 years? when the bottle slipped out of my hand onto the floor without the lid on.
Inversely proportional to your level of frustration, available time, patience, amount of light, length of arm, or all the above.
I would count and probably not give up until i found all 100 pcs. I have nearly disassembled a storage rack to retrieve a missing primer. THOSE are a bitch to find in the spider webs.
That reminds me; those racks need to have their open bottoms closed up.
I didn't clean every range trip. Maybe a quick wipe down with a rag and a little oil, run a boresnake down the pipe. Anything that might site for > 30 days gets an oil patch. Even then, sitting in my safe in the dry basement, rust doesn't pose much of a threat.
Now running them suppressed, the DI guns are just gross after every trip.
Tumbled 900 .38 Special brass.
