I went and tried this on my Sig SP 2022 in 9mm, and did discover that in SA pulling the trigger with the slide is OOB results in the hammer falling and it sounds like the firing pin is engaged. However, firing in DA while OOB results in the hammer going halfway back and falling forward with a light click indicating the firing pin is not engaging fully. There is also a click as the trigger does reset when it comes forward.
I have a 226 at home. I'll mess with it when I get home tonight.
What do you guys think will happen tonight?
Honestly, I think 99% of the 1% that was rioting and looting is too lazy to go out and do it again.
Over 80 arrests, I wonder how many get to go to prison? I think a mandatory visit to a prison during senior year high school would help stop this kind of behavior. Meh...WTF do I know...
Yes. The P229 has an audible click as the trigger resets. If the hammer is blocked, the round will not fire.
I have more than one, and BP can confirm this at his convenience.
I have no concerns carrying a P229. They are a bit pricey, but IMO, they are extremely well made duty pistols. I also have no problems carrying a Glock or a P250. None have given me concern on their function or I wouldn't carry them.
I think you'll see less looting and arson, but I bet the conflicts with the police will increase. The militant individuals will be out in force, but you're right the people who were just out there to loot because the opportunity was available won't be back out tonight.
