If I am in a big group we run slower, usually let the smaller groups by including all groups.

Trail Etiquette uphill has the right of way....................but it will also depend on manners, 1 person going uphill and 8 people coming downhill. It would be easy for the 1 to back down and let the others go by.

You are right about Jeep vs Toy, which is funny because I've owned 4 XJ's and 2 Toys. They both wheel equally as well, as long as I do my part, kind of like firearms.....

Yeah many folks seem to forget that uphill has the right of way. Again, I use totality of the circumstances.

Looking at some of these 4wheeler pics has me wondering - what's it cost to get into them? I see prices from $6k-10k for new honda/polaris rigs. I'm assuming used might be half that plus cost of trailer, helmets and stuff like that. Not knowing anything about them, am I likely to get a lemon looking on craigslist for used rigs? Not that I really need anything else to tow behind the jeep, but they look darn fun...

If you are patient, you can get into them cheap. I have two of them. They are older but very reliable and will go just about anywhere. I paid $1400 for the pair of them. The trailer set me back another $400. The wife and I really enjoy them. We can go places that even the mighty jeeps can't go. I'd never buy a new one. You can spend $6K or more and it won't be worth half that in a year or two. The side-by-side ones are nice but for the price of a new one you could build one hell of a CJ5, CJ7, or XJ.

Yielding the right of way to uphill traffic isn't just etiquette, it is state statute. If you really want to get down to it, no one has right of way, just one position has the greater duty to yield right of way than the other.

I always wanted to go that route, couple ATVs and a big utilitarian hauler. When looking at there prices I was taken back and decided to stick with my Jeeps. One of these years maybe, that or get into horses, ultimate all terrain vehicle. :)

We really do need to get the Jeeps, Yotas, Isuzus, Dodges, and whatever other rig wants to come out. Not only do we celebrate diversity in members, but we celebrate rig diversity lol.

FYI: hurley842002 was on Jenny Creek in post 327. This is considered it's own trail, which parallels Rollins Pass East. Both trails end up at Yankee Doodle Lake and Jenny Lake. http://www.traildamage.com/trails/index.php?id=17

Post #327 Hurley posted pictures of an offshoot of West Magnolia?

I know and I am pretty sure Hurley knows Jenny Creek is a short diversion off of Rollins pass east and considered its own trail.
