Well ain't that just dandy. Nothing like half a state in chaos to usher in marshal law.

CNN has an editorial up that not so loosely blames the riots on the authorities due to the fact they waited until after dark to make the announcement.
A) waiting until 8:00 pm was a VERY smart decision because it allowed all the good working folk to get home safely before the riots.
B) everyone has known for months that there would be riots after the decision...announcement timing had nothing to do with it.
Some ignorant fool wrote that piece.
Gotta disagree with the fellas that think the looters are taking the night off. I'm betting just the opposite, gotta strike while the iron is hot and get while the gettin's good, and all that.
They'll be out in force and expanding their looting zone.
But I hope I'm wrong.
The top commie at DOJ is speaking now.
On my P226 (MK25 so standard DA/SA) it depends how far out of battery it is.
If the weapon is in DA The slide can move about 1.5-2mm back and still function. If the slide is put back more than that, it's effectively OOB. From that point until the slide makes contact with the hammer the trigger functions and hammer drops as if it were in battery but no contact is made with the firing pin. Once the slide has pressure on the hammer, the trigger pulls with no response and several ugly clicks along the way.
In SA it's just about the same. The slide can move about 1-2mm and the hammer will still drop but with lighter primer strikes. Another mm or so back hammer will drop without striking the firing pin. Any further back the trigger moves freely.
The real reason for the riots is because the police didn't stick to thedemandssuggestionsrules of engagement proposed by the peaceful protestors. It's all about that fuckin' thin blue line. Those people were all law abiding citizens until provoked by the po-po.

I had one of those, looked just like that one. Man, I didn't know it was an automatic.
