Black and white one is Isis and was actually my first dog, we got her in Feb 2007 at 8 weeks old. The red and white one is Remington who we got in March 2012 from the local husky rescue at 1 year old. My mom only liked cats, my dad really didn't like pets at all since you had to do some work to keep them and when I was 5 I was attacked by a german shepard so I was actually scared around dogs until I was about 15. Now, I can't imagine not having them, and I know I'm going to have a hard time when one of them goes.

The hockey trio from left to right Zamboni,Puck and Stanley. Zamboni and Stanley are gone but Puck is still kicking. Zamboni was by far the best dog I have had or seen. I picked her up from a breeder in Loveland, when I went to pick out a pup the breeder let all the yellow labs into and room and she came over and set down on my feet. The breeder said there is your dog so home she went. I took her to work everyday and she would just hangout by the front door waiting for customers to come in. Hell we had customers that would stop by just to see her and wouldn't even buy anything. You could hold a hamburger down and tell her just a nibble and she would pull and onion out and eat it.

Bruno was a Greyhound/Pit mix. I had him since he was a 5 week old pup. My wife was volunteering at DDFL at the time, and there was this 1 little guy who needed to be fostered. He wasn't even in the house for an hour and he decided he liked it, and was going to stay. And he decided that he was mine, and from that point on he was. My wife was just as attached to him as I was. We had him longer than we'd had our kids, hell, he was one of our kids. If we were OK with someone being around, so was he. If we weren't, he knew it. But we could trust him with our kids implicitly. If they did something he didn't like, pulled or poked or whatever, he'd just get up and walk off. When I was home, wherever I was, so was he. I lost him last November, thankfully just before I was about to deploy so at least I was there with him at the end. Damn, I miss him.

I have only had GSDs my whole life so I am kind of biased. However I love pretty much all dogs. As long as you give them food, water, shelter, and love you will receive all you need from a dog 10 fold.

Sasha. She was a Cairn Terrier mixed with who knows what that I got from a free litter when she was just 10 weeks old. Intelligent, funny, loving, etc, etc. I had to put her down just a couple months shy of 15 years old. I held her in my arms and talked to her while she was put to sleep...cried like a baby. Then I had to go home and try to explain to my 6 and 3 year old kids where Sasha was. I miss her but have 2 other dogs now to keep us company.

Buddy Blue, wife gave him to me Valentines day 2003. Can't name an instance he ever let me down. Whatever job I have given him he has performed, tirelessly, willingly and well. For the last three years his job has been to protect and be companion to my wife(serious medical issues and multiple surgeries). We live in the country, I work long hours and often travel. I don't think I can ever pay him what he is worth.

My old friend Bug. She was a lab/cocker mix. She was Intelligent, funny, loving there is nothing that dog would not have done for our family. She had the biggest heart I have ever seen and she gave everything she had for her family every day of her life. A truly special friend that will always be missed.
