23 year old brutally assaulted at Denver light rail station..

I like how 9 Wants to know is all over the PD of why it took so long to get this to the media rather than help PD locate suspects. There's plenty of time to criticize the PD later, can 9 News just be helpful. Maybe is't just because I hate Kyle Clark. He's stupid. He makes it sound as if every crime will be solved within days of it being aired on 9 News. He's so annoying that I have to watch other stations. Of course the DPD rep couldn't have sounded more unready to take that question.

I hope these guys are caught. Remember everyone, be ready to take appropriate action to protect yourselves.

Also, I want to point out. I did a huge report in college about train transit systems in major cities. Washington DC, by far is the safest and cleanest system at the time I did the report...about 7 years ago. A major portion of this is because of policies and design of the system. The Transit system has a dedicated police department is another major factor. Whereas our transit system goes through several jurisdictions. I am not necessarily saying that a PD is the right answer for ours, but it's food for thought. I do know it's a jurisdictional nightmare in Lone Tree or it used to be. The station platform was the County's the bridge over 25 was the City. It was ridiculous.

In the OP the video is gone? Maybe they caught one of the attackers?

No they don't, they have a security force that will call for criminal enforcement to the jurisdiction they are in.

RTD does have a small POST certified LE group. Mostly though, the uniformed presence you might see on the light rail and downtown are G4S employees. All are prior LE but not nesecarilly a credentialed police officer.

Their website doesn't have tons of info. Just out of curiosity how big are they and why do they use a different uniformed presence, as Stoner pointed out? I have never heard of these guys at all and I am just curious what their function is when local jurisdictions handle things on RTD trains and such.

That's news to me. RTD employs a Police Chief and a Police Commander but they are not a police department ???
