There's video I was just watching of an 1800hp twin turbo Gallardo eating GTR's like that for lunch. It was a pretty impressive display of speed indeed.

Meh, I'd rather keep my '99 Sebring than buy anything from Government Motors. Not sure when I'll buy another car but it sure as hell won't be from a company with Obama's bootprints on it.
Not from the US government, but Italy is still basically a fascist oligarchy so I guarantee you that Ferrari gets a steady stream of cash from Rome.
If you're going to buy your hypercars based on the most entrepreneurial/capitalist builder, we're back to the Koenigsegg.
That said, none of us here are the market for hypercars ... really to be on that level you have to be part of the international cabal of industrialists and bankers that rule the world from behind the scenes (or one of their reptilian overlords).
And for what one of them cost you could buy an Ariel Atom, a new house with a huge garage and have every bit as much fun and still have money left over.
For me, my tastes are so pedestrian that my "money no object" car is a Singer 911 ... and I'd be happiest with an early BMW 2002 running an E30 M3 drivetrain ... and I could be into that for less than the cost of a new M3.
I also like the fact that GTR and 911 Turbo S launch control can be used wayyyyy more frequently than any other manufacturer's launch control.
I personally don't like open road testing (due to danger), but this guy has so many launch video on YouTube.

I gotta post GTR crash video (nsfw due to language)

You mean E46 M3 (if 2002)? Good choice either way. E30, E36, E46 and E9x are all good cars.
Not a fan of F8x M3 6cyl turbo (2015+) at all.
One of the guy (uae247 on google) at Abu Dhabi UAE got the first new M3/4 delivery in the world. Still not suppose to be out for public yet.
if you want to start pointing fingers then you need to look at the your fellow man that belong to the union. Believe me i hate obama as much as anyone, but if you think that the unions would have allowed any president the choice in this matter I have some ocean front property in Arizona that needs a buyer.
It is the stranglehold the union has on the auto industry that is to blame here.
once the marbles were rolling toward bailing out any industry this was inevitable.
