Also, a couple of the articles mentioned that a man attempted to render aid to the two women. Makes me wonder if it would have turned out differently if he had combat gauze or some other clotting wound packing. I know not everyone carries that stuff around, but maybe they should.

I have that stuff in a bag in the back of my car, but certainly don't carry it around while I'm away from my vehicle. Besides, with my luck, I'd get sued for trying to save somebody's life. [Roll1]
