Congrats! Stay safe...
Congrats!!
Congrats.
Since it has been a little over a year I felt like I should update this post,
I LOVE being a reserve!
Here is a list of most of the stuff I have done in the past year:
Reviewing Sheriff's Office Policy and Procedure.
Sex offender address verification, (if a person is a registered sex offend, the Sheriff's office must verify their contact info and address once every 3 months, 6 months or yearly.
When Park County Deputy Nate Carrigan was killed I went to Park County and worked, we secured the Crime Scene for CBI and helped them with calls for service.
I have also worked court security (small claims night court); it is really fun I got to hear some crazy small claim cases.
The Colorado State Patrol has "Take it to the Track" ever Wednesday night in the summer time at Bandimere Speedway, I have gotten to take a patrol vehicle to the track to run against people.
We also must attend a monthly training and meeting, and then in addition to that we must attend quarter and yearly training for CO P.O.S.T (CPR, Driving, Firearms, First aid, Anti-Bias Policing, Ethics, Legal Updates, De-Escalation, Taser, A.C.T, ect).
I have worked the jail transport vehicle.
We also do lots of committee events, like parades, runs, rallies, etc.
Lastly I do a lot of ride a longs, I am able to drive the patrol unit with a partner. We do traffic stops, calls for service, warrants and I have even had a few arrests.
I love it! I average right around 25 hours a month of service.
Still proud of you brother. Just do us, and your family, a favor - Given the current climate, be especially careful out there.
