The mag ban repeal is still alive in the Senate, but of course even if it passes there would still have to get through the House. And a different version of the military carry bill, SB 16-144 was introduced on March 4 by Sen Cooke, so it will get a second chance. His bill is different in that instead of exempting active duty military from the permit requirement, would lower the age for applying for a concealed carry permit to 18 for active duty or honorably discharged military.
As others have noted, the battle for these issues is really won (or lost) in November, when these folks stand for election, not in the committee hearing after the Colorado legislature has already taken shape. The only way any of these bills stand a chance is if there is a Republican majority in both houses of the legislature. A few Democratic members of the House may be faintly pro-gun, but the Democratic leadership will never allow any pro-gun bill to come to the floor for a vote so long as they control the body.
