Good photo.
I've always known them as solifugids. I encounter them around the house and garage a few times every week, spring through fall. The cats will catch and kill them. Solifugids are often aggressive attacking their prey with quadra mandibles. Nasty critters, I don't like them. I don't even like squishing the darn things, but I do just to make sure they don't mutate into something larger than humans.
Burt is right, kill it with fire.
Looks like another good use for the Judge.
Dubia. Not quite like normal roaches someone might think of. Can't fly, climb walls, make noise, nor smell, so pretty painless super easy. Also was making $200 every couple months off them. Were a kinda must have when I had a couple big big lizards and gecko's.
My wife mentioned that her dad would find these critters and scorpions while working in Madagascar. He would bring them home and let them fight. The spider always won. Too damn fast for the scorpion and would flip it on its back. After viewing some youtube videos, it also appears that the mandibles of the camel spider are used to disable the stinger on the tail...and eventually eat the scorpion. At least it's one creepy thing eating other creepy things.
