I think the extended tips fit fine in this thread. I regularly use silicone spray in my snow thrower but haven't thought of using it on boots, snow shovels or the plow. So now, not all silicone spray products are the same? I want something that lasts a long time at reasonable cost. I'll have to look for Fluid Film.
Can the silicone spray on the boots transfer to carpet, and if so, might it attract more dirt?
I've been purchasing just the OEM rubber insert for years. They last better than any aftermarket blade and don't ever squeek or skip. Like any rubber item in the elements, they wear out but are cheap. It's also far less wasteful than throwing out the metal or plastic arms every time. For this to be an option, you need the OEM arms.
