Jer. It was a joke. The intent was to point out the absurdity of blaming an object for a person?s behavior. You know - satire. Or maybe you don?t, in which case my post is an example.
?satire: the use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people?s stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics, and other topical issues.? - Oxford Dictionary
I still think it would be cool to have a Tesla and charge it from a big solar panel in my back yard. An electric HMMV would be even cooler. Maybe even an alien Bud Light sticker and a personalized licence plate that reads "AREA51"...
Not sure if serious based on the emoticon but, if so, we have owned many in the past and currently have three:
2023 Tesla Model Y Long Range, blue on white
2017 Tesla Model S P100D w/Ludicrous (0-60mph in 2.21 seconds), silver on white
2016.5 Tesla Model S P90D w/Ludicrous, red on beige
These cars are truly amazing. The Model Y is the slowest vehicle Tesla makes currently and it will still run circles around anything gas-powered you've driven and does so far more reliably and inexpensively in terms of energy source and maintenance.
I, too, thought they were bad news bears based on all the BS you hear echoed (especially in these types of circles most on this forum tend to associate with) but the reality is that almost none of it is true. The ultra-negative view of Tesla as a brand by a small percentage of the populace is tiring and comes largely from a place of simply not understanding the truth and taking the BS as fact.
I've offered it here before: I'm happy to meet anyone in person who would like to see one in person and go for a ride and answer any and all questions you have 100% honestly, for better or worse. I'm not a salesman for Tesla nor do I have an agenda. I won't sugar coat any of the negative and will offer up everything for you to be able to make an informed opinion on the topic. Hint: very little of anything you read on forums like this are accurate to reality as it applies to this topic.
I've done quite a few deep dives over the years on all things EV so I'm happy to offer up any knowledge I've gained to those who are genuinely interested and open to discussing. What I've grown utterly bored with is people on forums like this who just say hot button items to seem like they know what they're talking about on a topic w/o actually knowing anything and then refusing to accept any info that goes against that, regardless of how factual it is. This one-way discourse is something I no longer have the time for in life. If someone wants to live in a bubble of misinformation and has no desire to learn anything new then I wish them well but I don't have the patience for those meaningless conversations. I have no interest in contributing to someone's echo chamber of ignorance that serves only to confirm their inaccurate assumptions with zero desire to level-up their knowledge of a topic.
I will however talk for hours to someone who wants to have a civil 2-way conversation from a place of genuinely wanting to know from someone who has been through it first hand that's happy to answer all questions. Happy to spread the word of our lord and savior Elon Musk. ROFL
I?m holding out for one of the hydrogen powered Toyotas.
Ludicrous is ulltra fast mode. Ballistic kevlar body and bullet proof glass would definitely be a wanted option here in Pueblo.
