Oh, no, that would be wrong:
If the cagers are stuck in traffic EVERYBODY needs to be stuck in traffic...[facepalm]
The good news is that cars today leave like 2 or 3 car lengths between themselves, and the drivers are all looking at their phones. They won't even notice as we weave our way (legally) past.

As to the item I bolded and highlighted in red above...
About 8-10 years ago I swore that it seemed like the roads in Colorado Springs were getting narrower, then... I watched a video of the retiring head of the department of roads (planning, upgrading, etc.) where she was discussing her proudest achievements. At the top of the list was how she had narrower new roads and the lines on many existing roads painted to cause narrower roads. Of the existing roads she had this done on, they were "known roads for people speeding". I'm sure they met the federal lane width requirements [/sarcasm]. She said that she did this to cause drivers to slow down. Now I've seen my share of slow drivers on these roads and quite a few even doing the posted speed limit, but I've seen no decrease in the number of people driving over the posted speed limits. I think MOST people will drive at the speed they feel is safe for their skills and their vehicles abilities - which is often over the posted speed limits. One then needs to question why these limits are set lower than most people believe is proper for a specific road.
My point here is that we have a LOT of narrow roads here in Colo Spr. Many are too narrow for lane splitting by motorcycles. But I suspect that most who choose to practice this will conveniently fail to remember the above listed limitation. Kind of like when recreational pot was initially legalized and you couldn't help but encounter someone smoking pot in an off-limits area because "Hey dude, it's legal".
Yeah, I see a lot of damage to 4 wheeled vehicles and motorcycles as well and a marked increase in motorcycle accidents/deaths in general once this is legalized. Hell, most of the time I don't feel particularly safe wrapped all around be metal and a frame due to the carelessness of so many on the roads these days. I've also seen a huge increase in motorcyclists doing things clearly unsafe and that I was taught NOT to do when I went through my Motorcycle Rider training. I guess it's time to get front and rear "dash cams" to use as evidence when it becomes necessary.
Well, the shoulder is never considered a driving lane and the text of the bill explicitly uses the term driving lane for the various situations in which someone may lane split.
Also, the left shoulder is designated by a solid yellow line. It is not legal to cross a solid yellow line.
This is the same idiot who decided on the I-25/Fillmore and Union/Woodmen interchanges? Then applied the same design to the Powers/Research overpass? They should have sent her on to Boulder County without even hiring her. I'm still amazed we haven't had multi-car pile-ups at the first 2 interchanges.
