amazing post! You are exactly like a a few of the guys I work with. They have immigrated over legally from Spain, Mexico, Canada, England, Ireland and all great hardworking people, I can easily tell you are exactly the same and value the country! Glad to have you![Beer]
my grandmother immigrated from England right after WW2. she still hasnt learned our language. she stills says things like silly bugger, bloody. But, She did do it legal and she flies the US flag everyday in front of her house on a 20 foot tall pole. and has as long as I can remember.
Probably just time consuming.
In my case it took the best part of 4 years, with repeated interviews for me and my wife, medical exams, paperwork to get from Italy etc.
I guess it varies from person to person.
But it is well worth it.
I am not ashamed to say that at the end of it all, at my naturalization ceremony, I could not help tearing up.
Thats total liberal talking point B.S.
They are jobs the wellfare babies wont do not jobs working Americans wont do.
Stoping paying out all this welfare and extended unemployeement benfits and you will have lines of people waiting to take the jobs.
Its about motivation, give someone motivation not to work and they wont work. It's really that damn simple.
THANK YOU for your post! ^^^ This is what it's (immigration) supposed to be about. And, as much as I have no issues with Italians, if we had "X" million Italians crossing the border into the U.S. illegally every year, I would certainly have an issue.
I'm glad to were able to make the system work for you. I know it wasn't easy. I also appreciate that while I'm sure that you are very proud of your heritage, you have adopted the language, customs and culture of your new home nation and become a member of OUR community instead of expecting us to adjust to your customs, etc.
Now, I have to comment on the deal with yours and your fathers names and the other things you mentioned.... Given what you've told us, you could be a poster child for all of the stereotypes Americans have for Italians. That's some funny stuff!
One last thing [STEREOTYPING TO FOLLOW]: Since Italians have talk with their hands, how can you type? [/STEREOTYPING][ROFL1]
Oh heck yeah!
