Looks like today is worst than yesterday according to the news.
My wife just called and said she slide through a light and hit some dude.[Bang]
Yes she is fine. She was trying to make a right turn at a slow speed and her car did not turn right and went straight. She hit a guy waiting at the light. It just scratched his door but it cracked her bumper. She told the guy we would take care of it and not to call the police, but he did so now she has a $170 ticket to pay aswell. Once the cop showed up the guy was like "you dont have to write her a ticket" but is was to late. I dont blame him, if I was not at fault I would have called the cops too.
I got to play with the tailgaters and people who pass using the right side breakdown lane yesterday.
I stayed home today.
Foxtrot - What kind of motorcycle are you riding that you can chain up? The reason I ask is my dad works the graveyard shift and rides his to work almost everyday that he can which means he comes out in the morning to find snow sometimes. Even worse, he commutes up a pass after work and may find snow halfway up and has on a number of occasions. Like you he went through a blizzard recently but had no idea he would run into it when he started his ride.
Sounds like you're a die hard like him. He evens rides to work when it's near 0deg...I think his lowest so far is 4 deg or something. I couldn't do that but he loves it. The worst I have been in was a nasty hail/rain/sleet storm from east of Hartsel to Denver via 285. Hardest 100 miles I ever spent on a bike. The hail got so bad so fast that before I knew it there was 6-8" built up on the the road and all I could do was stay in the tire tracks left by the car in front of me. Worst part was I had a half shell helmet and 1/4-1/2" hail was coming at my face sideways. As you know, people make the funniest faces when they see some crazy SOB on a MC in that shit.
I'd like to tell him to get some chains but I didn't know they had such thing for bikes.
This morning I saw an SUV skid through an intersection sideways in front of oncoming traffic before proceeding to fishtail for a full block down 17th Ave. It was some Mexican lady text messaging during the morning rush hour commute on ice.
It seems like half the idiots I saw losing control on the ice had their cellphones pressed up against their ear.
Driving in heavy traffic on ice is dangerous and requires focus. Seeing this sort of carelessness pisses me off.
