But good luck, turbo cars are hard to launch. I have prooblems when I have been to bandimere with a turbo car. Great speeds, crappy times. I don't race often or seriously any more.

Turbo cars aren't hard to launch if they're AWD!
On street tires my old Talon repeatedly did 1.69 - 1.72 60' times. There are so many tricks now to build boost at the line, even in manual transmission cars.
I used to rev to 5k, and start "popping" the throttle to WOT as fast as I could, with the right timing, I could launch under WOT as the third yellow illuminated. (sportsman tree). I would pretty much sidestep the clutch. I let the tires take the abuse (wheelspin). It worked well for me and my setup.(380 hp at the wheels)
My best was a 12.33 @ 111 with a 60ft time of 1.68.
My Vette? Heh. Since I can't launch a rwd car to save my life, it wasn't pretty.
I *think* I ran a 14.6?? @ 100 mph. My 60 ft time all night was 2.2-2.5 seconds!
I leave my Vette largely unmodified. I like that I don't have to watch gauges and tear into it every weekend.
Maybe I'm getting old.
