Thought I would resurrect this thread from the dead files.

Maybe there is a really Old Fart that was napping when I originally posted this and was around at the time this was in use in the military and can shed some light on what this container was used for.......[Tooth]
are there any mounts on the bottom? on the inside , does it look as if someone has removed old munitions cradles ?? the navy keeps more munitions in metal cans in boxes (or at least used to). unlike the army who uses more cardboard and wood . it could be an old fuse box or something . there should be markings stamped into the metal if its even military at all . but these markings can be a real bitch to find . also look for (typewriter size) stamped date and or container number (usually found along a joint of fold in metal ) .
