No MIG here, I had an off brand Italian 165 amp model that was dual voltage and I think I had paid $250.00 for it. Had a nice stitch and spot switch, worked great for my needs at the time and was awesome for bodywork.
Sold it after I picked up my TIG machine and I wish I hadn't.
I snagged my TIG (Miller Syncrowave 200) with 5 hours on it in a trade. Gave a DPMS 20" 308 for it. This machine rocks.
I was talking with a buddy tonight about TIGing some plate and he said his Hobart needs to run @ 120 amps where my Miller will do the same weld at 80 amps.
Very clean and stable arc and what little bit of aluminum I have done with it was very clean and ran a great bead.
Thinking about it when I was burning wire for a living we used Hobarts or Millers, I only used a red machine for a few months and I really didn't care for it. Hardfacing really sucked with it.
