Yeah tomorrow Im gonna go buy a wired NIC and see if I can get through with that...god I hope I can...
Firewall has been disabled...my ipconfig /all reading is on a previous page in this thread.
I bought a wired linksys card, but Vista didnt recognize it or the drivers on the CD...gonna give wireless a try..if that dont work, Im giving up...
Linksys doesn't have any PCI NICs that are compatible with Vista.
I noticed...good thing in a way...all my PCI slots are full :P
I picked up a belkin USB wireless card and downloaded the Vista 64 drivers...it installed, but it cant see any networks, it seems[M2]
Used the Belkin software to perform a ping test...here are the results:

...and you tried disabling the firewall with the wireless config?
Ive had Windows Firewall disabled since I got Vista up and running...
What's the firmware version on your WRT54GL? Do you have UPnP enabled on your router?
Have you tried this router compatibility tool?

I tried this test on my router. My router is missing some of the advanced functions of Vista. It's no big deal to me. There was a link to Vista Certified Routers and neither of ours are on the list;

As a matter of fact, there aren't any "certified" for x64 and only one that is listed as "compatible". ETA: I clicked on the link to the "compatible" device and there is absolutely no indication that it will work with x64.
...did I mention that there was some word today that the Windows 7 release is being moved up to the 2nd half of 2009? Vista is really making in-roads.

I bought an Abit Wireless PCI-e adapter and installed it and am now posting from my desktop! :)
Thanks for all the help, guys...
