Sooo.... CBI is down, the BGC are piling up- what's going on at Tanner?
Left there about an hour ago, heard complaints of them being backed up. Most vendors told customers to come back Sunday.
Got there late near closing to scope out a few things but will be there first thing in the morning for opening before heading back down to the Springs.
I went this morning. Mostly to walk around and browse. Plenty of parking and not really crowded. Figured it would be that way with the Broncos playing at 11 this morning.
I did overhear a vendor on the phone with someone from yesterday telling them their background check went through.
Used my usual strategy and stuck $500 in my pocket. Seems every time I go there with money I never find anything to buy.
I went Saturday, made my usual trek around the place looking for the always illusive APEX Gun Parts booth. Never found it as usual and as usual I asked at the front desk and no one knows who they are or where they have a booth. It seems to me that if somebody was going to set up a booth and if they were trying to drum up business maybe they would have a sign and maybe they would use their business name to register, but that’s just me being silly. I still feel good for having tried, gives me something to look for at every Tanner show, I have confidence one year I will find it. In they mean time there is about five things I will just order from the web site.
APEX...walk in, pay your money, take the first hard left, walk 20 or so feet past the books and there they are.
We have a different inventory that we just take to local shows,,, not parts or magazines.
I had STEN Mark 2 kits and bayonets plus a lot of military slings.
With the live inventory of the new web site it is not like before where we can just take material from the warehouse and then bring back what didn't sell.
I did hand out a bunch of business cards to people needing Mosin parts, etc so they can order off the web site.

Sounds like a waste of time for all involved!
I dunno, picked up a SP101 for a great price. Had a good visit.

Saturday was still a good day, just could have been an excellent day had the CBI/NICS been up more than half the day. And from a personal perspective I managed to sell 2 guns. Wasn't there on Sunday, but hear it was extremely slow. Expected as the Broncos game started at 11:00.
Tanner this weekend. YAY!
Booooooooring
Went today, noticed from their speaking and dress, quite a few mid-easterners and either Somalis, Ethiopians...north east Africans. Having spent time in that part of the world, I don't trust 'em for sh.t. Expect me to be non-PC in this.
Went Saturday, saw a mint ban era Arsenal SA-93 thumbhole stock and all for a steal at $750.. these are selling for $1000-$1300.. Didn't pick it up though I knew I should.. Went back 1st thing this morning and someone walked out with it right before I got there. :(
Hate arming the enemy.
Denver Tanner show Nov 5-6. Cheap entertainment and can find deals at times if you know pricing or are in need of something specific. Be interesting to check prices days before Election Day.
I'll be there again because apparently no shops in this damned megapolis carry or can order the pistol I'm looking for. ...ok, I'm really going for the eye candy, ammo, see friends, and...find the pistol I'm looking for!
Tanner Gun Show, the weekend before a shitshow of an election? There will be no deals to be had.
The past two weekend's there has been local gun shows in Colorado Springs.
No real differences in customers buying trends, I found good buys on 9MM and 5.56 at the Denver Bullets tables.
I expect TANNER to be no different, just another slow Colorado Gun Show..
Richard
There's also that Colorado Country Christmas show going on at the MM this weekend. Probably will make finding a parking place a nightmare. I experienced that last year.
Thanks for the heads up on the Christmas show. I went last year when that was happening and drove around for about a half hour looking for a place to park and just left. I said then I would never go to a Tanner when something else was going on at the Mart. Maybe if crowds are down they will learn from it and look at an event calendar when scheduling.
aw man...that means the rotund, overly perfumed x-mas crafters will be slamming their car doors, scraping bumpers, taking more than one space, and being as grumpy as a lesbian with a cold sore at a slumber party.
Just drove by the Denver merchandise mart. It is a mess with the parking. Be there early!
Still have never been able to find the Apex table..
We have missed a few TANNER shows this year.
We actually have 5 tables..
But I don't usually bring kits or parts, we have some items from the web site, but mostly it is holsters, slings and bayonets.
Last two times we set up I had STEN Mark 2 kits, but none this time.
Richard
Quite a few good deals to be had there....We found some colt lowers for 110$...M18s for 40 etc... You gotta look closely...I actually saw an HK SL-7....a rare find
How was the show today?
Same old crap at same stupid prices. lots of knives. did finally see a couplr cmr30's.
Hoped prices would be down after the election, but still the same people selling the same stuff for the same price I saw in 2014. Did find a reasonable used Victory though, so wasn't too much of a waste
The same people have been pimping the same over priced (oops) RARE & COLLECTIBLE shit for decades. Outside of their tables being moved around it's the same people. Like Mick (or did his kid take over) and his $60 Glock or M1A mags. Gentlescam Dave (or is he now a reverend?) The father, son team with 20rd COLT and Universal mags with post 94 price tags and display glass that hasn't been cleaned since it rolled off the factory floor.
The 2 guys with mismatched number bring back mausers still asking $600+ BECAUSE they're bring backs. Even though they've been sporterized to shit. Semi decent monte carlo stock with sideways sling swivel, stripped out scope holes, crown that's seen more use as a door opener than the range.
Yeah the usual suspects. It's been years since i attended however if not these guys specifically, Some crew who could be their doubles.
There's some deals and good vendors who price their products fairly.
