Congrats man! I was going to ask you about that when we met up at Bass Pro, but I spaced it. I seriously don't know how you can stand in the middle of second hand smoke though.... ugh. Sorry but that shit is plain poison to me.

Thanks gents.
I have to admit i love the smell when I am around someone who is smoking
I'm working on quitting again. From past experience, after about 2 weeks of quitting, I can't stand the smell of smoke.
16 weeks, 4 MONTHS today!!!!
Feeling good, a lot fatter, but feeling good!
How are the others that quit doing? I hope you are hangin in there!! [Awesom]
9 weeks and a day for me. I did smoke 2 on a camping trip a couple of weeks ago. I also take a puff of my girlfriends (just one drag) every once in a while (once every couple of weeks). I am definitely a little "fluffier" than I was when I quit. Had a death in the family last wek and it was really hard not to go and buy a pack. For the most part I am fine and don't want it on a day to day basis anymore. I don't think the few puffs I have have been a setback at all because afterwards I realize that it tasted like shit, and I go on like it was nothing. I really can't see myself being a smoker again.
Keep it goin guys!! I havnt had even a puff in the 4 months since I quit. I do still absolutely LOVE the way they smell though when someone is smoking near me. But boy oh boy am I FAT..... [Dinner] [PizzaHut]
I quit in january. It was one of the hardest things I have ever done.
keep it up folks.
I know just what you're going through.
quitting addiction takes real guts and gumption.
I quit in January. I smoked for 35 years and I honestly love smoking.
Now I am 30 pounds heavier, my cholestrol is high and my trigliserides are off the chart.
I have ate enough chicken and fish that I am growing feathers and fins. Probably starved at least a half dozen rabbits to death but I'm trying
One year smoke free!! It has officially been one year since I have smoked a single cigarette. Woohoo
I gained 50 pounds, but at least I am not smoking anymore.
Anyway after 29 years of smoking it was tough to quit but it is possible. All I can say is just do it, stop now.
Congratulations, Leif! That is really something to be proud of. [Beer]
I quit after 13 years of smoking and it was a very hard thing to do. Tried weaning myself off, tried the gum, and the patches, but I just ended up smoking with them. In the end, cold-turkey was the only thing that worked. Haven't had one in 2 1/2 years now.
Rock On!
Wow Leif! Congrats man, keep up the great work! The lbs can be shed but your lungs can't be replaced!
Great. Glad you made the effort.
I'm on day 5 without any nicotine. I caught a nasty bug over the weekend and smoking cigarettes was next to impossible. So I figured that's as good as a time as any to stop. Last time I made it 4 months. I think if I can keep busy and stay clear of whiskey I'll be okay.
Should break his hoop say I'm sorry and walk away. Then drop kick the little fucker in the chest it might not help the urge to smoke, but it will be just as satisfying!!
Thanks everyone. I do feel better and yes I do need to get to the gym now.
Cfortune you can do it, stick to it now.
Congrats on quitting!
It's a bitch. I smoked for 19 years on and off. Started around 16. March 10th 2011 I had my last cigarette. Started chewing and gave that up in October of last year so I have been nicotine free for 8 months.
I quit for 2 years back in 2004 but started up again in 2006. It just took one drag off a girlfriends cigarette to get me back on the shit. I'd have half of one, then I bought a pack and it was all over.
After getting off the nicotine I started eating more. Had to make some dietary changes, Quit drinking 3-4 Cokes a day and gave up the super fatty food. Also started mountain biking again after taking a couple years off. Man it feels good to have lungs that work.
I haven't smoked in two days but have been using snus to knock down the nicotine cravings.
This will be the year of exercise for me!! [Awesom]
congrats on quitting and keeping with it. personally i never liked smoking going through high school i played too many sports. IE: Football
now for exercise if you really want to work out look into Cross-fit its a bit pricey but its one hell of a work out. granted i am still pretty young might not be for everyone as its pretty intense.

Good luck man. I quit 9 years ago and am glad I did. I am healthier and saved a ton of cash.
Thought I'd dig this thread up and report that I'm about 4 mos since my last purchased pack of cigarettes. I've bummed a couple during that time but as a whole have been smoke free. Feels damn good.
It gets easier. I've been quit for almost 15 years now. Just passed the "more years quit than smoked" milestone.
Haven't actually craved one in many years.
Keep at it, it's worth it.
You know what helped me quit 5 or 6 years ago...?
I bought a pack and made it rot... and when I felt I was jonesing for a smoke. I'd lite one up... tried not to finish it and just put it back into the pack with the rest... shit lasted for a while until I threw it away because it mind fucked me tasting like shit.
That next cigarette you bum.. try not to finish it and keep it hanging around till you get another crave and try sparking that one up after sitting for a day or two... pretty sure that'll mess you up a little..
Other than that... be strong man! You can do it! [Beer]
I am down to like 1 or 2 a day. I can go a week without one. I just smoke when I feel like it and put it out the second I am good. Which might be 3 puffs. I would quite if others around me did not smoke. But I have been like this for over a decade. I don't think I could ever smoke a pack a day. I am thinking about totally kicking it by summer.
It's all in your head. There is nothing hard about quitting smoking. Just got to have the right mindset. What help me when I was quitting I had to visualize my addiction to cigarettes as a parasite, and I had to simply starve this creature by not smoking cigarettes. At that point it just become the game I win or this nasty parasite. I end up winning over 5 years now. If you have time to read this, do it. It will get you into right mindset.
