My friend's grandson was there. Little guy's friend is unaccounted for :(
Again, I wish the laws were "common sense" enough to allow us to take care of those we love instead of creating such inviting targets for psychopaths.
Okay, so I just saw a Fox 31 news truck over at Rich Wyatt's place. I wonder what he has to say. God help us/
What terrible news to wake up to. My thoughts are with the families affected and the community.
Been seeing a lot of this "If you believe you have a right to bear arms, than may you bear responsibility for the babies that died today." People are stupid..
^This. I couldn't agree more that is society helping to create these crazy fuckers. I'm 25 and can't believe how people in my age bracket act.Quote:
He addressed the real issue. The issue of crazy fuckers.
Hearing about this was truly a mindnumbing and motivation-draining way to wake up. My prayers go out to the families who lost children or loved ones, to the students who will forever be scarred by this event, and to everyone else who is affected one way or another.
It is truly sickening to see this type of event happen so frequently. I believe that stricter gun laws will not help the situation, as criminals will always be criminals, but if there was a way to prevent this (mandatory CCW), I would be all for it.
I used to carry my CCW only when it was convenient, or when I would be out of my house all day. No more. I will be carrying 24/7 now (because simply having a pistol out in the house may not be enough if someone kicks in the front door and grabs me), even at home. And yes, I will be carrying while sleeping. I will be urging my fiancee to get her CCL and may even gift her the class for Christmas (or a crudely photoshopped coupon for the class date of her choosing). Then, the second part of that gift will be a CCW of her choosing, and the proper ammo for it. I found out recently both of my Uncles have their CCWs, my mom just got hers a few months ago (and carries everywhere), and I'm trying to convince my sister to get hers as well (she even gets discounts on guns being a Paramedic Firefighter).
Back to the point at hand though, I am interested, like others, to hear what the President will consider as "taking meaningful action to prevent more tragedies like this". And as others have said, I wish I had the cash to go out and stock up on more ammo and guns right now, but I don't.
eta: I too am 27 and am often appalled at how people my age (in their 20's) act. I have always been very mature for my age, and was raised with proper values. Acting out in violence was NEVER allowed and dealt with extremely harshly. While I don't have any kids right now (we plan to have our first within 2-3yrs), I have seen how many people my age deal with their parenting, and they are simply too immature to be put in that role and it's disheartening. I fear for the future of America because children are no longer being raised with the ideals, values and morals to keep people acting kindly towards another human being.
Meanwhile at a school in Israel:

I cannot say much about this as I just feel sick about the loss of life that should have never happened and could have been prevented. When will our Government wise up and make it a requirement for school employee's to carry guns. The answer is not what all the Libtards are going to say which is gun control, the answer is real simple. Allow school employee's to carry a firearm and give them the proper training to use it. This could have been avoided by any number of people with the proper training and tools to stop this sick twisted worthless piece of crap.
President Carter and President Reagan deinstitutionalized the insane in the 70's and 80's. The shooters in the past several years have had a mental illness of some sort. Look it up. Look this up also, violent crimes, guns knives assults rapes have gone up since the 70's when the peanut farmer and the actor started their nonsense. I work in this field by accident, it was not my intention to get into the mental health field and what I see daily sickens me but I am not going out to shoot someone. I will not give up my rights for junkies, crackheads, meth freeks, perverts, child molesters etc. Just think., all these presidents and govenors can say all this shit because they have armed body guards to protect them. The common law abiding citizens has to protect himself, because there ain't enough police ain't enough prisons and aint enough officials or citizens with balls enough to say this is enough....
The reports keep saying this shooter was a young man... He ain't a man, a man would not have taken on poor little children. He is a rabid animal and need to be dealt wih accordingly.
^^^^ I have to agree, and doing so also means your country! And to the flip side you can't protect your family by yourself, it will take me and others banned together. So yes you need to look out for my family and others too! Pray for the families that lost there's today! Try not to be so self centered we all need to be together in this..............
They said "the gun was legally purchased and registered." I hate that line, basically the Anti's fueling what they believe is "see even guns legally purchased and owned still causes tragic events" NO, these guns were legally purchased and owned by his mom. He stole the guns. That just goes to show you if a dumbass/nut job wants he will still do.
And can you imagine being the shooters brother? Living your life and having your name associated with such a tragic event. Not only that, having been accused that you were the shooter because your brother allegedly took your ID. Changing his name and moving to another part of the country will not be enough to escape this.
They're now reporting that 3 of the guns belonged to his mother.. you know..the one he killed.. So while they may have been legally obtained by her.. they were NOT by him.
Another good piece on what we should focus on, and why:
http://www.usatoday.com/story/opinio...ntrol/1770345/
I don't know but I have a opinion;
It is the fault of the government run school system that indoctrinates children, teaching them what to think and not teaching children how to think. When a person that was not taught how to think runs into a situation that requires critical thought processes, they are unable to cope with the situation and act out trying to get someone to pay attention. They were never taught to ask... anything. Just do it this way or else ... And believe me, and I have experienced this with my daughter in high school. When you ask a school person, from teacher to principal, for help for your child, you get none! The child is evaluated by the school psychologist and simply moved to another class or criticized as a trouble maker for asking questions or for help with a problem. "There are tutors or counselors that can help your daughter Mr and Mrs Murphy. We can't just stop the class if she doesn't understand, we don't have time for that and the disruptions interfere with other student's learning activities. You need to take care of that outside the classroom". They don't have time to TEACH! No wonder we are so far behind the world in academics.
Without the ability to think critically any person will not be able to cope in the "real" world. They must be constantly taken care of because they can't take care of themselves. We took our daughter out of school and home schooled her. She is a brat to the Nth degree and will speak her mind. She is way more intelligent that her parents ever were and intimidates the boys because they just don't know what to think and she gets bored with them.
Again, just my opinion from my experience.
Did they say the Bushmaster was found in the car?
Get ready folks, legislation is coming- coming very soon. It was a crazy day today at the Firing Line.
CBI now 696 apps in the que, at 1900 part of the staff leaves so thing will really get backed up, wait time is almost 3 hours now. This is worse than black Friday. The Looper can, I believe, shut down CBI for a period of time. I know he can for sure if he institues marshal law, then all transfer if firearms are stopped.
The ARs are now moving very quickly.
I heard the AR was found in the car and he went in the school with a glock and a sig.
Two interesting articles:
Perhaps we should try banning mentally unfit people instead of guns for once.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/...more-frequent/
Looks like some people actually understand! I hope this is the type of laws that the President is talking about forging. http://www.freep.com/article/2012121...-Conn-massacre
My prayers go to all the families and victims. But, I'm starting to think that all of these wackos are liberals trying to martyr themselves into gun control. Just my[2cents]!!
So Ryan (the brother that didn't kill anybody) had on his Facebook page that he liked the game Mass Effect. Things predictably went to shit from there...

Mass Effect, for those who don't know, is a game about a futuristic human soldier working stop an armada of sentient spaceships bent on destroying all life in the galaxy.
you can still get a good deal on some AR-15s with the existing posts on Gunbroker! The more recent posts are getting kinda high.
James Yeager went off.
