Just want to ask if we brought a Molon Labe or Gadsden flag if that would that be ok? Don't want to fed the medias negative image of gun owners either.
bring a sh*t load of spent/empty brass with me.
... and here's what I'll explain when asked why...
1) I went through 15,000+ rounds last year and none of these killed anyone.
2) Imagine how many jobs are out there I supported with these rounds.
3) These weren't used for any sort of protection from anything.
... this all I can really think of for now...
what do you guys think?
Sure wish I could attend, it's a great day for this event (my b-day), unfortunately I'll be working :banghead: hopefully many will attend, and nobody will act a fool.
Myself and a few buddies will be there as well
The guns across America colorado group is running a car pool from Colorado Springs .. Meeting at the woodmen park and ride leaving NLT 945 am...
I'll be getting on I-25 at Happy Canyon. There a good place to park off road there. If anybody want to share a ride PM me. I figure I'll have to pay to park so might as well save money.
Here's the organizers stance on firearms at the march:
Quote:
Spent an hour with two of the top cops this morning from the CHP. There is absolutely no guns allowed on state property. You will be arrested and I want you to know we are backing the police on this one. I know you have rights, but this is the law. And isn't that part of what we are conveying here? That we are law abiding citizens? Of course it is. So please, DONT BRING A GUN ON THE PROPERTY. DENVER PD also does not take kindly to this so I am asking you to use good judgement and common sense. We will have families with children there. I can assure you of this, there are other measures in place to protect the lives of everyone there. Next page DD

Now, more on the media. I will be everywhere there. I want you to program my phone number into your phone 719 200 6797 (not for you infiltrators though). If you see the media trying to engage somebody, call me. Before you call determine where you. Example, I am in the southwest corner, back side. This way I know where to go. If you are approached by the media and decide you want to talk remember this. Remain calm no matter what they say to you. Pause and think a minute before you speak. "will this hurt our agenda" If yes, don't say it. DD
I was just about to post that... can we get clarity on this? I'd rather not spend more than .5 seconds anywhere in Denver unarmed (CSP presence notwithstanding)... I was under the impression that CCW was legal anywhere outdoors that it is not posted otherwise, and prohibited in controlled (guard/detector) and government areas... Just want to be sure...
I think he's pretty straight forward about it.

DONT BRING A GUN ON THE PROPERTY.
I suppose if you won't go with CCW you can follow it from across the street. I can understand their not wanting to turn it into a confrontation. Personally, I wish they could have a found a place noticeable with CCW allowed.
But that is a clear and direct contradiction to CRS concerning Concealed Carry laws. It says nothing of prohibitions to CCW on state property- it does state controlled access (again metal detectors/guards/signs) it is illegal. It is also illegal to carry inside gov buildings. BUT it is NOT illegal in the context of what that organizer posted- and I just read through Title 18, Article 12- OFFENSES RELATING TO FIREARMS AND WEAPONS, again and it says nothing of concealed carry being prohibited on State property, only within government buildings.
Here, for your reading pleasure...

I just called CSP and was told that it is illegal to CCW on capitol property, but they could not give me the CRS stating so.
Anyone wants a ride from Castle Rock to Auraria Campus and back, let me know.
It's good to see this thread picking up steam. I hope we can get 50 from here!
Where will we protest on the Capitol?
Thanks, and please post up what you hear back on carrying.
Okay, a few questions... I believe the air has been cleared and it's legal to CCW, but the organizers are now stating that they would prefer if people did not CCW. So out of everyone who is going, that has a permit, who is going to be CCW and who will not? I'm on the fence here, they're acting like they don't want to stir up any trouble and risk anything, but on the other hand, I don't feel comfortable ever going to Denver without my EDC on my person. There are going to be cops everywhere, but going back to what's been said on here, cops are not there to protect you, their job usually is going on after a crime has been committed. Besides, isn't an armed society a polite society?
This is one instance in which I think the CCW will stay home.
I wont' be.
concealed is concealed.
You think they are going to be doing spot checks. Doubt it.
Unless I hear something definative about it somehow not being legal, I will be carrying. Whenever I go to Denver, I carry. I also take the lightrail, and then will ride the shuttle up and walk over, so that much time around the weirdos around 16th street? Yeah I'm carrying. And it's concealed, and I don't plan on anyone seeing it. If I get there and see something about it being illegal and they have metal detectors, then I leave.
This is all I can go by:
While we all know that "concealed means concealed"... the fact that they are trying to make Civic Center Park a temporary gun-free zone during the time of the rally leads me to believe that they will try and somehow enforce that (meaning wands). I just wish ANYBODY out there could find a statute that supports the park being a gun-free zone... thus making it illegal for concealed carry there. Nobody is willing to do that... which just tells me they want to temporarily make this an enforced gun-free zone.Quote:

I'll post again without the quote for clarity:

Been doing a lot of reading on the CRS the past few weeks and this is all I've seen relating to this rally.
I may be going now that my Scout campout has been postponed but my CCW is staying home. The organizers have asked you not to bring any firearms. Firmly standing up for your rights under YOUR understanding of the CRS can backfire on the rest of us in terms of the scene it creates and public opinion so if you can't respect the organizers' request then support the rally from across the street or on the Internet.
So is it at the Capitol or across the street at the park?
I'm so confused.
