Based on national averages, 274 people died today due to alcohol, about 100 of them killed by a drunk person, more than three times that number were sexually assaulted.

No bottle of booze nor sexual organ ever prevented a murder...but firearms help prevent death every day...think about it.

I agree with your post and I think the same punishment I mentioned should stand for most severe crimes.... not an eye for an eye but the family making the decision on the punishment. If they want to let the drunk who killed their daughter go free then so be it (ok that would suck but I still think it's better than our current system).

I heard on 9 news he bought the 4 guns at Gander Mt and Bass Pro in the last 60 days, 2 of the most expensive gun shops(not important) and 6000rds online all legally. Oh great how does that look? 6000 rds I don't think is even important because he didn't even use close to that to do his damage. Now they will probably say we need to limit the amount of ammo purchased and guns in a certain amount of time. My deepest sympathy to everyone and +1 to the police response and actions. I am just saying from what I have been hearing today.

They're going to use the situation to create new legislation regardless of how he came into possession of the firearms he used. If he had purchased them FTF, they'd be fighting for background checks for all sales.

Now Fox female reporter says he used a Winchester 870 with a picture having a label under the shotgun as Remington 870. Just gotta love the news and lack of penalties for just saying anything you want without correction.

I heard an 850 KOA guy say it was a "10 gauge shotgun". Then a guy on FOX News said "extra round clips" are "a Federal Offense now".
