I don't honestly think we're "sheltered" here in CO, it's just not a front and center issue as much as it is elsewhere in this vast and diverse nation. No one seems to remember the LoDo crap last year? Black dudes beating up white guys late at night and spouting racial comments, and both the mayor's office and DPD brass refused to call it "hate crime" or "racially motivated". The sad part is, this whole drama has become racially involved, thanks to baiters like Jackson, Sharpton, and Oblahblah... DOJ doing community organizing? That's a huge problem right there. Obama inciting this behavior ("If I had a son he'd look like Trayvon"), and the twitter scene blowing up with talk (actions maybe not) of riots and killing white people. This is all getting way out of hand. Guarantee if it was a black man that shot a 17 year old white kid, this wouldn't even be a blip on anyone's radar.

Michael Brown was talking about it yesterday, and it's all the fault of the liberal media, and the baiters mentioned before for making this a big deal. Had they not gotten involved and this just left alone, I don't think any charges would be filed, and no one would have ever known the names of Trayvon Martin or George Zimmerman. Brown was right, rule of law in this country is starting to vanish.

Take race out of the equation: If this had been a black man shooting a black kid, this wouldn't have rated half a column inch on page 14 of their local paper...

They will try to convict him of anything and everything thing they can. At this point, the DA is making a Zimmerman conviction their Everest. The PD couldn't find justification for charging GZ....but this has become a political football and has nothing to do with justice.

On another note I agree with an earlier post a decade or three ago I never thought about race in my neighborhood. Pretty much the only thing I noticed was if a house was looking unkempt or crime was going on such as burglaries and graffiti. The balck family across the street worried about the same thing and it was not about race. Now were all divided .

That's a bit extreme. The guys I hang with, shoot with, neighbors, and co-workers are all just the same now as we were 5,10,15 years ago. Are they're some shi++y people who will want to tear stuff up if the verdict doesn't go their way....probably. It's no indication of an entire race. I'm tired of that bullshit on this site. And it just goes on and on. People being viloent, destructive whatever is more of a socioeconomic issue....not as much a race issue. Check out what kind of violence and societal destruction is occurring due to meth in small town, mostly white towns across America. Hey, the Westboro Baptsist Church is white and gets a lot of attention....how representative is that? I hear more about Sharpton and Jesse Jackson more on this website than I do anywhere else.
