I think I just saw a chupacabra.
Might have been a fox or a coyote but I'm pretty sure it was a chupacabra.

Any good Netflix suggestions for falling asleep?

I fell asleep last night watching Castlevania...
I usually find something I want to watch. Never fails. If I want to watch it I always end up falling asleep. I had one movie that took me about five or six tries before I finally got through it.
Third and final night at the hospital. Daughter number two graced us with her presence earlier today. Labor and delivery was a shit show but mom and baby are healthy. I can't wait to go home tomorrow and finally sleep.
Anybody else still up?
Things get out of hand when my wife is out of town... Moved my desk and bench to the basement today, ran a regular cat6e and a pair fibers. Now I get to start building my 10gbps network...
Why 10gbps? Meh, cause I can. How else do you learn? Just do it! I have extra fiber and connectors from a work project, and Chelsio SFP+ PCIE cards are cheap enough to play around. It'll start as a network between my Linux Server, NAS, and Windows desktop. They are all getting 2 port cards, and I'll use the Linux server as the "switch" for now, and then if I decide to grow this at all, I'll add a UBNT ES-16-XG as the SFP+ switch.
Geek.

I was thoroughly entertained at getting 1.14Gbps across 30 miles on a wireless link today.

(Just poking at you...)
I'm more of a dork than a geek. Geeks are good with technology. Dorks just like Star Wars and stuff. [Awesom]
Dorks just like Star Wars and stuff.
And dress themselves slightly more cooler.
Sometimes way cooler.
I've wondered before if there's more to the meaning of the word unitard that isn't in any dictionary....ha ha.
For instance...."The city was in grave peril until it was saved by.......Unitard". Could be a good comic series maybe.
Next time you're up late and can't sleep. Let this video play in the background and you'll be out in a few minutes.

Suppose to be working 4am to 4pm, but it's been more like 3am to 6pm these last two weeks. Luckily this will be over in April, and I will have my first day off work this year.
2018 bump! Anyone else getting tired of nights? I do a mix of nights and days on a 6 week schedule..I think in my old age it is starting to bother me more than it used to. I used to only sleep 3-4 hours during the day and wake up chipper as hell. Now I sleep about 4-5 hours and drag my ass out of bed, and then I need to catch another nap before heading in.
Zombie thread resurrection.
Thought about this tonight (this morning) as I was taking a pee and realized I could have posted here almost every day since Dec 23rd.
Been working 12-16 hour days helping a client recover from a catastrophic SAN outage at their primary production location.
My first round of nights begins on 1/23. Seven nights on, 7days off, then another round of 7 nights plus a bonus night on Valentines day! Lucky me...
Donde estas?
Not night shift anymore but 5 am shift starts are rough is the coffee fresh?
The hour+ commute sure makes it seem like nite shift.
4pm to 4am every day until the middle of June.
Yuck.
11PM to 7AM for the foreseeable future.
Been working nights since June 2014, 8:30pm to 6:30am. Hate it. Just holding out until retirement, July 2022 here I come.....
