He did it as far as I can tell, but I forgot what he came up with. Knowing what the circumference is 30,000 feet up, let alone accounting for the climb and descent is where I quickly get lost. I should run this by my youngest son, he was a CS/math major before he changed to EE.
The circumference of the earth at the 34th parallel is listed here as 17958.166 miles. Given that a rise in elevation makes it farther still, but likely less than 1% more, your answer falls short.
