Loaded some 6mm Creedmoor for load development, gotta do some 6.5x284 next.
Road tested some 38 125gr JHP's and 200gr plated 45's. Both loads were close to dead nuts as possible. Granted, tomorrow, i'll be lucky to hit the berm.
Lots 'o shootin today. Of all the things I need to reload, all I accomplished in the room today was drinking the champagne of beers and sizing / lubing all of the previously pictured boolits.
Yay annealing!! 1k pieces of .308 with a drill and propane torch.
I procrastinated loading hoping my Giraud trimmer gets here before I have to do it the old fashioned way one more time.
another 200 125gr 38spl JHP's
30 308 168's. Loaded to a reasonable length.
Some 223 and 400 125hr 38 HP's Looks cool enough today, might get the spouse to start tumbling the last few range trips brass.
Tumbling brass
i got some 62g lead core from Bulletheads so I'm going to be testing those
"get the spouse to"
Kazoo, how, exactly does this thing work? She shoots, she will occasionally load a mag...she knows where all the cleaning and reloading stuff is downstairs...but the "get the spouse to" thing escapes me...
BTW, We've been away at the PITA Grand Pacific Trapshooting Tournament for a while, I had to go downstairs today to make sure the basement is actually still there. Maybe get down there tomorrow and actually do something.
Reloaded 200 rounds of 9mm.
Used up the last of my AA5. Loaded up 200 rounds of 9mm, and 127 rounds of 45 (ran out of my 45 bullets, more on order already).
Now I've got 1/2 a bottle of titegroup, and 4 unopened bottles CFE Pistol. I'll work up some test rounds for the CFE later this week. Not much reloading data out there for CFE Pistol. Only "official" source I've seen is the Hodgdon website. But that data, combined with recipes I've seen on various forums seem to match up pretty well, so I have an idea of where to start.
I procrastinated (again) and worked on the secret gun shelves instead. Gotta load some .260 soon...
Loaded up 28rds of Mk316Mod0 last night and then boxed up my reloading press and drove all that stuff to the storage unit. Won't get to reload or even go shooting for at least 4mo. [Cry]
browsing load data from late 70's & 80's manuals, and the powders used. Interesting info.
Vacuumed the floor, redid the shelving units, and sorted brass.
Okay, so I tried the "picture on the milk carton" idea. Not going to do THAT again! I'm not taking Kazoo's advice anymore! That's going to leave a scar.
I've started working out after work since I got back from the Grand Pacific shoot. Nice by-product of that is my cooling down period in the basement (it's always cooler down there) is just about right for two boxes of 12 ga reloading.
Finished a case of rounds last night. And, I've got another thou of 147 gr 9mm's coming from Extreme Bullets. BTW, they have free shipping this month.
It is interesting reading. With articles written by guys with names like Hodgdon, Page and O'Connor, all you can say is there's a solid foundation there.
Here's a link to 4 old manuals:

I ordered some lead (Keith 173g .358 and 265g .452) from Beartooth. If these work out then I'll add the Keith 250g .430 for my .44.
Tested my first 9mm rounds using the CFE Pistol. Metered very well. Looks like VERY tiny flakes, small enough that it flowed well in the powder measure.
Loaded up 15 each with 5.3gr, 5.5gr, and 5.7gr, using Xtreme 115gr plated round nose, at 1.125" OAL. Made sure to test all the round in both of my 9mm pistols. All of them seemed good, a little snappier than my titegroup rounds, which I'm thinking I may have loaded a little light. Muzzle flash was minimal, and both guns were pretty clean afterwards.
Going to use the 5.5gr load and load up a couple hundred 9mm.
Measured Case capacity on some old brass; had a friend run my load thru QL & it came back OVERPRESSURE. Will now be pulling these down & reworking the load; ugh
Bent the flat spring inside the ram on my press. Have to call RCBS I guess.
Helped jreifsch / Justin, sort his berdan brass, from everything else. Found 75 pcs of 1X Hornady 44mag . It's a message from the spirits, Buy A lever action 44mag.
I'm not sure why you would ever doubt such a thing.
If that's how the gun spirits speak to us, then I should probably buy a bunch of guns in .380 because I seem to always find a bunch of .380 mixed in with my 9mm! ...of course I always seem to find it just AFTER I've seated a 9mm bullet in the .380 case...
[Mad]
cleaned .45 brass now time to reload. I shot up the last reloads over the weekend. Was happy to find the Berry's bullets I use at Cabellas. Quick price check on internet shows the same price. Bought one box should have bought both of them.
Over the past 4 days...
Deprimed, cleaned in ultrasonic, and prepped for loading 200 pieces of .260 Rem brass. Made 100 pieces of 6.5PCC brass. Loaded 100 rounds of 240SMK 300BO ammo. Loaded 1200 rounds of 9mm. Loaded 300 rounds of .308. Loaded 50 rounds of .414 SuperMag.
Picked up a few lbs of hand gun powder i didn't need, but took anyway. The feast or famine of components keeps one on their toes. No matter how many folks say, Components are making a comeback. Sure they are, like vanilla ice and milli vanilli.
Pistol Powder ??
Unheard of around these parts; you should invest in Lotto tickets.
Ran some .223 brass through the 1050.
Couple dozen rounds for the .338-06, 50 rounds of .44 mag for the second batch of tests with the lever gun (new cast boolit)... still in search of the .44 mag load that the rifle and pistol both shoot well.
100 rds of .308 on my single stage. It's fun to get into the little details.
Yeap, I was in Omaha and stopped in a shop that had an impressive amount of powder on the shelf. They even had 8lb and 1lb jugs of Winchester Autocomp, which is a great pistol powder for 9/40/45 etc. One guy in there was trying to find titegroup and I told him to give the autocomp a try, he couldn't wrap his head around the fact that a different powder might be as good or better than what he was using. Oh well, his loss. I walked out of there with 24lbs of powder, and a lighter wallet.
Now I get to spend some time tuning up some 7-08 brass into 260 brass. Found a shop that had it on the shelf too.
Knocked over a couple hundred primed .308 cases I had stacked in a plastic tub while moving the workbench over 1" while re-arranging the basement to make more room for storage.
Loaded a test run of Hornady 75gr BTHPs to test tomorrow in the new 1:8 upper.
22-24gr H335
CCI#400 primers
Brass is marked "AD 08 5.56"
OAL is 2.270
