Sigh. Friend just told me he bought dies, powder, primers and bullets to load for his 30-06... on my reloading press and gear.
What's worse, the gun shop sold him .312 diameter bullets because he's totally clueless when it comes to reloading. [facepalm]

That tells a lot about the type of folks working that shop...
He showed up to my house last year with a bag of 9mm bullets, powder and primers and asked me to drop everything and help him reload. He thought it was as simple as churning out rounds.
The powder he was sold is Accurate #5. We went all the way up to .1gr under max and it STILL wouldn't cycle his pistol properly.
Oh this shop is a monopoly, its the only one in town.
They'll sell you anything you want at a 25% markup. You want a Glock 19? That'll be $775 + tax + transfer (yes, THEY charge a transfer fee on the guns they sell IN HOUSE!). You want a hi point? That's $490.
You want some small pistol primers? That'll be $39/1k + tax and hazmat fee (again, yes they charge you the additional hazmat fee based on a percentage of what you buy).
I go in there occasionally to buy powder, because that isn't all that bad, but they have been sold out for a year. They "reserved" 3lbs of varget for me out of a 10lb order they got, but then sold it out from under me without calling me to let me know it was in.
eta: And also because I'm too slow at finding powder online in-stock that I want/need.
I've gone in there quite a few times too fondle various guns just because, always buying something out of principle, but lately I honestly can't get myself to go in there anymore.
But now i've got to go to the shop with my friend, explain to them why he has to return it (hoping we can find decent load data with the powder he was sold, h335 for 30-06), then buy something else that is more along the lines of what he should have.
And this friend doesn't even shoot a lot. In the 1.5yrs I've known him, he's gone to the range twice. Put 60rds 30-06 through his new rifle to sight it in (yes, it took that long, I tried to help but he didn't want it). And has put about 100rds through his 9mm. What's funny, is that our walmart has ammo in stock now, so he can buy ammo off the shelf.
