Agree with Jim. Maybe you oughta soak the perimeter every few hours as a precaution?

Fires and Shit....Funny how all this started once Falling Sky's started back up......Stay safe BadgeMan!
Well fuuuuuuu...
Just really hurt my knee. Been fighting with it the past month while trying to get back into running. Seeing a doc too. Was reaching for something, then turned around and heard a loud pop and excruciating pain in my knee, traveling up/down my leg. Took me 15min to walk 100yds back to the control room, extremely sharp pains up/down my leg anytime i put weight on it.
Oh crap! Don't fall on any mushroom switch that is red!!!!!
However, if you pass any shit with mushrooms growing under them, enjoy....[Coffee]
Where'd the mushrooms come from?
I can't keep track anymore...Were we talking about Aliens?
Oh, did you mean these:

We have the all over the telescope, they turn off the motors and kick on the brakes. Granted, the ones that we have are a different shape and have a light inside them, they're similar. They're the emergency stop buttons. Sadly, there wasn't one nearby, otherwise I woulda hit it to get my coworker to come find me.
And you reminded me as well, I have a falling sky's episode to watch! Looking forward to it too, glad they brought the show back!
Thanks Bob. We've already received several offers, but I think a lot of my friends and coworkers are in much more danger than we are.
Yeah Yeah yeah we're all ready to go.
I just have dirt around my house and my house is stucco. Not really anything to soak.
We'll be watching the winds very closely tonight...
Yes those are the ones. See if you can order a WiFi model, and carry that baby with you!
I have digital copies and hard copies of all our important documents and major receipts. I also recently walked around the house and photographed absolutely everything we own. I took pictures of every room, then opened every drawer and took pictures of the contents. I'm not sure how insurance claims for stuff like this works, but I figure if I have some recent pictures of all the stuff we own, especially the expensive and high-value stuff, it will be a lot easier to make an insurance claim for it to replace the replaceable "things". Everything that isn't replaceable is already in the bug out vehicle.
They sell those already:

Anyone going to Parker days this weekend?
AND you've got pet ducks?! WOW, how have you not eaten them by now and not cared?!
[LOL]
So are we officially done with the shit talking?..
Not unless you want to go back to talking about it?
Shit, fire, mushrooms, aliens and some place called Parker. Coincidence? I think not.
So you're starting blogs now about whacking grackles?
Do you ever stop talking about whacking grackles?
But for the record, no, I did not read your blog... [Shake]
Fine with me...
Now, to come up with some poopy jokes. Give me a few, I'm not very creative.
Thats it, I'm stumped. I'm going to go sit in the corner on a stool.
Oh fun, the one server that we can't operate without, just went down. Its the one that has our scheduled observing plan. Even if we load the next cartridge for the next time slot, we can't get the coords for that cartridge to be able to slew the telescope...
Dead in the water... would be nice to have a full night off, or at least a couple hour break so I can go lay down with ice on my knee.
Shucks, he get it back online. Still clueless as to why it went down.
Good luck and stay safe!
Posting up for a new day.
Just looked outside and can't see the fire's glow anymore (good sign) but the wind died down and the smoke is settling all around. I can still see stars when I look up, but it looks like there is a light fog under the street lamps. It smells pretty terrible.
Thanks for the update, glad to hear they might be starting to get it under control, hope the wind stays down!
Wazzzzzzz up.
