Yeah, the Frontier Sportsman's Club by Colorado Springs has a 1000yd range in the 5 year plan. I wouldn't know what to do with 1000yds, but I know a lot of other people that could appreciate it. I think I could hit a barn at 1000yds with a couple of my guns.

I shot (and hit) a 1k target on Saturday (using a friend's LMT MWS in 6.5 Creedmoor). It really wasn't THAT hard. Get the dope figured out, get the fundamentals right, and send it. Rreading wind well still eludes me. However, within a couple rounds, I was hitting about 50%.

750 with a .223 is also not difficult.

Here's part of the problem: I only have 2 guns with a barrel longer than 16"... One is a ruger 10/22 and the other is a shotgun. Hard to send a .223 round that far (accurately) with only a 16" barrel. I don't have any experience shooting at anything past 450yds, but I would love to get a rifle that could do it, then learn to use it.

Nice. I probably need a bigger scope though. Kind of hard to see a 10" target (this is the only steel I have) at 750yds with a 2-8x scope. (Actually, that is probably more of a preference. I've seen guys hit IPSC targets at 600yds open sights.) I Wish I had a place nearby to set up and practice.

10x can get you to 1k.... would you WANT something more... sure, but 10x will get you there.

I was shooting 700 with 9x40 on the 7mm. Of course it was screwing around and windy as hell, but I was still able to hit the sihloet
