It is quickly looking that way. The upslope is carrying alot of moisture. We already have 5" of Sierra Cement just waiting for sub freezing temps to set up. Wind started to kick up about 2 hrs ago, drifts to 18". Admin and phone work tomorrow from home. [rockon]
Buffalobo, mud work eh? Fun stuff!
My wife claims I jinxed it since I recently said how pleased I was that we had not had blizzard out here yet this season. [Bang]
Took me a minute to figure that one out. Being from Hawaii you probably had not heard of Sierra Cement.
Sierra Cement refers to "high" moisture content snow. Name comes from DOT workers in Sierra Nevada mountains in California. Sierra Nevadas are known for high snowfall totals of this "high" moisture content snow. It is heavy snow, hard to move and packs to ice as the temp falls.
In Colorado we typically see a dryer, lighter, more powdery snow, aka "Champagne Powder".
Damn that's interesting! Nope never heard of that. :)
Thanks for the knowledge.
