Motorcycle License

I ride a Gold Wing and take a class about every three years. They remind me to 1. use the clutch in a way you shouldn't in a car, and 2. every time I come out I find that I can pick up a little something that helps me in maneuvering wet, dry, or other. If you ride without your endorsement and crash the bike the insurance company's do not have to pay your claim if you crash or are crashed into no matter how long you have been riding. Take a advanced class on your own bike after a while and do one were they flood the course or do it in the rain. I just came back from Bear Tooth Pass (What a great trip!!)

I try not to be a total jerk. Also I am doing my best to be respectful, I just ask that others try their best too. Right now everyone I know hates me for my gun rights issues and on here everyone hates me because I am not lockstep. I grow tired of it all.

I don't think it's true that insurance won't pay your claim. I'll have to check, but it doesn't make sense.

I think they will still "have" to pay the claim .. but it will give you ZERO room to negotiate, and they pay bottom dollar.... Also I assume if they "catch you" they might drop ya like a hot rock ....

And you would have to deal with the ticket for no license which could include up to revoking your license for up to 1 year and "mandatory" jail time ( doubtful for a first offense but anything is possible).

Or if you know how to ride.. spend the 15-20 bucks and take the test at the DMV and avoid the whole problem ....

None of this matters if you are talking about your own insurance company. You are covered for what you are covered for, there is no negotiation anyway. If it's not your fault and you are working with another company, whether you had an endorsement or not wouldn't (shouldn't) matter because you would not have contributed to the accident. If the other company is trying to put comparative negligence on you, the no endorsement isn't that great of a bargaining tool as your actions either contributed or they didn't and the endorsement wouldn't change that. Or you could be dealing with Fred Loya and you are screwed either way.

could be ... you are probably correct...

Hense the " I think's and I assumes"

but any which way.. it could be avoided with a quick test at the DMV .. mine took less then 15 mins.

I road with a permit for 7 years. went in to renew it and the lady asked me what the hell this piece of shit thing i had was. My mc permit, 7 YEARS? sorry this one is not getting renewed. here's a temp that expires in 30 days. take the test or you will never receive an MC endorsement. Took it on my brothers 81 yammie 650. Had i known it was that easy, i would have taken it in 74. Then again doing the test with a jockey shift 48 indian wasn't easy to maneuver around cones.

Yeah I bet that would have been a real bitch in the cones section ....

I took my last one on an 86 VFR.... Great bike but the slow speed cones are not it's .. forte ... nearly cost me the test.. oops... ( didn't help I had not ridden much in too many years or ridden that bike much at all )

I say if you have access to one, take the test on a dual sport style bike. They excel at the slow speed stuff can handle the mid speed parts of the test fantastically too.

I should clarify ... I took the courses back in the early 90's in new mexico ... after a long break from riding I had to get my endorsement in colorado rather then drop the coin on a course I'd already had ( tho admittedly like almost 20 years before) I just did the DMV test

Wife and I are taking the BRC class Monday and Tuesday down in COS at the Chapel Hills mall. Should be hella fun! I haven't ridden in probably 20 years...
