I believe methylene blue is one of the ingredients in some fish tank medicines. I don't know about the fish tank additives, would guess they're safe but wouldn't assume so. I know methylene blue is supposed to be perfectly safe, been used as a biological dye and tracing agent for decades.

We did this to a buddy at his Bachelor Party. A bit in a rum and coke led to hours of entertainement.
