Safe travels, and may you be under your weight allowance for your move!
I recall pleasant parts of Texas, and there are some very good folks that live there.
There are flying roaches in Texas. Bring a very, very large flyswatter.

Sabot, (or should I call you Mr. Round?) (Sorry, I don't know your formal title)
I'll second the Vaya Con Dios... please endeavor to make it a better place by repelling liberals from the AO..
If things don't turn around in Colofornia, I may be joining you... I have been recently informed my ancestors have roots in TX... [Beer]
Safe travels and enjoy that state! Just remember to tell them everything is bigger there, except for Alaska.
Vois con Dios and ditto on the large fly swatter.
Take care, best of luck!
Have a save trip and enjoy your time in TX!
You take care of yourself! You'll find some good folks down there too.
...and there will be no need to pack your snow shovel.
Take care and stay in touch!
Well Welcome to Texas! We're glad to have ya!
Can't tell you how many times I heard that after moving here in March (I live 30 miles north of Ft. Worth near Texas Motor Speedway).
Texas is full of great people and even greater food. We just elected another Republican Governor so we're safe from the Austin area crowd for a few more years.
Despite common beliefs (mine included before I moved here), there's lots of purdy scenery in Texas. It's not full of 14ers but if you can put that aside, you can really enjoy the state. We have ice storms, and Texas is horrible about taking care of their roads when the weather is foul, but when it was -14 overnight in CO a couple of weeks ago, it was still just a balmy 37 overnight here. There are definitely trade-offs.
My wife and I like to go to the trade show weekends in the various counties and towns. There's lots of junk to be found but also a good many firearms (old and new) to be had without jumping through the same hoops CO enacted last year. Also, it's nice to walk into Cabela's or Academy or Bass Pro and just grab a few 30-round mags off the shelf :D
