He wasn't trained into a pass first system, josh mcdaniels overpaid with the draft pick, and the new staff wanted to remove all traces of the mc'd era. The pure physicality of tebow was impressive, but he would have had to learn reads.

Tebow through 126 completions and 6 interceptions in the 2011 season with the Broncos. Manning through 5 completions and 4 interceptions yesterday.

I'd like to clarify, Tim Tebow wouldn't have become elway or manning, he could have been a Russell Wilson, cam newton type though. Im not sure that's what we want here, but it is s sad waste to have this defense tied to this offense.
