My wife has had formal training and it helped.
Once she was not paying attention to the muzzle and I pointed it out--she immediately flashed on the husbands can't criticize reaction then remembered a second later how serious firearm safety is and said "you are right I'm sorry". I have to cherish the memory because it will not happen on any other subject.
