TV/Audio/Video help
too cool Foxtrot. But my computer is a 27" iMAC. Also have a 15" macbook pro.
I quit using PC's and Windows based computer stuff about 7 years ago. No regrets and have never looked back.
Waiting on 4 klipsch satellite speakers to arrive on Tuesday. Got all 4 for $50 shipped.

ordered a pair of hdmi/ethernet wallplates. one for the living room and one for the bedroom closet.
I'm going to run the hdmi and ethernet wires under the baseboard in the bedroom to the closet and put one wall plate with bridge wires for both between the wallplates. Then install the living room wallplate and run a cord of each under the baseboard to the tv and playstation. (Already had the cables on hand in a box of electronics and wires that I went through today).
For some reason movies play great via wireless on the Serviio Media Server but downloaded tv shows are choppy and cut in and out. This should resolve the issue and I now can get a wireless keyboard (already have a wireless mouse) for the living room and pull up a browser and stream whatever I want right to the tv and play music through the surround sound. Similar to foxtrots idea but slightly different in concept and doesnt require special software, just a few cables.
The power of computing and technology is amazing.

should have done this from the start! This sounds amazing for such a low end home a/v system. Everything works. All that's left to do is run a hard wire from the router to the PS3 to resolve the choppy streaming issues, and an HDMI from the desktop computer, install the wallplate and all is done.

Ran the wires, installed the wallplates. Had a minor issue with the picture skipping when running the hdmi cable from the computer to the wallplate to the receiver. Checked all the connections, they were solid. So I went from the pc to the wall plate to the tv input and resolved the issue. I can now stream live sports via the internet from the pc right to the tv and the surround sound.
Manually named all the inputs and tested each.
Setup the HD antenna and tested location on all channels then mounted it on the wall.
Bluetooth headphones work.
Aux/Line Out from the phone/ipod to the surround sound works perfect.
Iphone via bluetooth to the receiver is oddly a bit choppy. However moving the phone closer to the receiver seems to resolve the issue.
PS3 is now hard wired to the router. Video playback issues have been resolved and there is no more buffering or choppy video that cuts out.
PS3 also plays blu-ray and dvd discs.
AM/FM antenna is setup and routed.
All issues resolved. Perfect set up. No need for cable/satellite or netflixs. I now have the media world at my fingertips. [emoji16]
